We were told Amaris chose Fae in chapter 22. In addition, we saw that Amaris had chosen Fae in this chapter, in her fight with Amanda.

Is it just me, or does Jon seem to come into this thread and troll everyone, and it's kind of ignored?

Chapter was alright, but i generally like my near end chapters to answer questions instead of create more. So Amaris isn't a complete bitch, but even with the winter lady's power, the blow is still fatal. I suppose there'll be some interesting by-play with the unseelie in the future, but I don't think it'll have screen time.

While I am a fan of dresden canon, I'm glad we're finally getting back to the Harry Potter side of this crossover. I'm curious as to how we're going to have Voldemort as the last, and hardest person to kill. Harry didn't seem to worried about him after his ressurection, so unless Voldemort has been hitting the books and making deals with the seelie (Harry is winter, thus it'd make sense that Voldemort is summer) -or maybe the neutral fae- it'll be a rather short-lived battle.

 

Dumbledore couldn't beat Voldemort last time they fought, Harry couldn't beat Dumbledore last time they fought. Both were fairly recent.

So Voldemort still is a challenge. Harry learning Words is a boost which possibly gives him the advantage, but note that knowledge of Words was not enough for Dumbledore.

Still, if Harry pulls a 3 Words in a row on Voldemort at the very beginning of the fight, we could be in for a short battle. It would exhaust Harry of course, but perhaps not so much that he couldn't do other magic to finish off a weakened Voldemort (after all, he did 3 words + a shit load of other stuff against Maeve). One Word from Dumbledore was enough to put Voldemort on the back foot, after all.

That said, who knows what other unknown magic Voldemort knows. Plus Voldemort specialises in traps, so it's likely that their fight will be on Voldemort's turf.

What I'm interested in is what the post-Voldemort Dumbledore-Harry relationship is going to look like. After all, with Voldemort, Maeve, and the Blackened Order out of the way, Harry is probably the most immediate threat to the forces of good in the world.

 

Definitely. I'm wondering if Shezza might hit us with a nasty twist there. I'm guessing probably not, but there's certainly going to be an interesting change to their relationship.

 

I can't wait to see the post-Voldemort interactions between Harry and Dumbledore as well. Is it confirmed that Amaris will die or did Shezza just write it that way on accident? I was at first wanting her dead but after having her live through the battle it seems kinda disappointing that she will die from the wounds.


I know my opinion here is going to probably be hated by a lot of people but I might as well give it since authors should get some criticism when it is needed. The whole Amanda finding out Amaris was Harry's daughter and also Amaris telling Harry she has chosen to be a full blooded Winter Fae both seems rushed. I literally skipped over both of those somewhat major events without seeing them as important simply because they were written almost as a afterthought. I only found out about them from asking about it later since I was confused about what people were talking about. While I like your somewhat frequent updates I would rather you not rush the story.

 

You ever think Shezza just watches us try to guess what plot twist will happen next and then laughs maniacally as it all goes so horribly wrong?

 

....I dunno maybe. I don't know him but would he really just slide important info into the story and hope people miss it as a joke?

It was really funny watching you guys guess about what was going to happen to Amaris, and how close someone was... I think it was garris or something? BUt he mentioned Maeve's power flowing into Amaris.

In all seriousness, I sorta stay quiet in the review thread and let things pan out. I get a lot of ideas from here when I don't butt in. For example, somebody might point out a plot hole and I say "Shit!". Then somebody else points out a logical explanation for that plothole. Then somebody points out flaws in the reason...and so on and so on.

That's only one example.

But yeah, I do take amusement as to what you think will happen next- even when I steal your ideas too. Like, somebody said that Voldemort was good at using traps, etc, etc, and I put in mah plot.doc "Voldemort uses trap, singes Harry" or something like that.

So yeah. You're funny...but you're also helpful too.

Considering Harry just busted out 3 Words against Maeve on her own turf while in a bad condition, it seems rather slanted to me.

 

I wouldnt say Voldemort could beat Dumbledore... so much as he can't be defeated by him. I Dumbledore would let himself go he could probably do it.

At the moment I'd put Harry/Voldemort/Dumbledore in pretty much the same rank, the out come of each fight would depend on individual circumstances of each fight.

There is not a lot seperating them.

@Kang: Yes, she is that powerful. Butcher has said that it would take the entire White Council combined to even begin to think of taking her on, and even then only if they have her name.

Also remember Summer Knight, where Mab and Titania are preparing to go at it. Harry comments on the power he's witnessing. Plus the fact that such a battle would effectively destroy the Earth.
