Well, it seems Moots sold out.

So now full on damage control. We now know why all threads on GG are being banned. Most have run to 8chan and Escapist. DLP is now one of 5 boards that allows people to actually talk about Gamergate, if you don't count Twitter.

 

When I first came across this thread, the first thing I thought was: "This is the kind of shit that Cracked loves to talk about." Lo and behold, their article. Pretty much what I expected from them. Pretty sad and frustrating, both sides.

I've known about the Quinn article for awhile, but I don't plan on reading it or visiting Cracked anytime soon.

 

This is honestly just sickening. The level of censorship, from sites I would definitely not have predicted being partisan, is extremely high. It doesn't stop, either. Every time I think I'm clear of this shit, more evidence comes to light. It's like an inescapable whirlpool of nepotism and lies.

 

Know that feeling they are so full of self-righteous shit these days. But their 'inside' articles are pretty interesting, if they are ture, and I love Seanbaby and Jacopo, but what got me to like Cracked enough was the Mr. Rogers article, as someone who never even heard of him before, that got me straight on.

Byut enough derailing, it hurts when something you love ruins to show a byzantine incestous court like this.

 

Funny story, apparently while Julian Assange was giving an interview on Reddit someone asked for his opinion on Gamergate and then was shadowbanned because he had upvoted GG content earlier. Leader of Wikileeks was not amused.

 

The quinn article linked above 404's. I haven't really followed this shitstorm tbh, but mostly because I don't read any of the sites involved.

 

There's just so much shit that's been going on. Recently it was discovered that there's some kind of mailing list/Google group where most of these journalists hang out and talk. Their topics are pretty damming, included are some boasts about objectivity being stupid.

 

The whole thing about 4chan... pretty sad. I've been there for the past 7 years, give or take a month, and with every year, there's more curbstomping on what you're allowed to post and what you're not. It's not even breaking the specific board's guidelines, in this case.

The whole "personal information posting/call for raiding" that moot's referring to was done by 1 or 2 guys, who usually got ignored. So instead of just banning those two, he instead banned all threads and isn't allowing any mention of it, on any part of 4chan. Yeah, totally not overreacting or selling out. No, sir.

By the way, anyone got the image of that one mod from 4chan taking a picture with ZQ? He posted it on Twitter, of all places.

 

4chan always backpedals out of the blast radius of the movements it spawns, which is exactly why the 'asshole of the internet' has survived as long as it had. If it played host to every whim and fancy of Anonymous it would have collapsed into a black hole under the weight of all it's subpoenas about half a decade ago. Arguably the Gamergate shitstorm is more meritorious and/or legit than the previous movements, but 4chan has already been used several times for attempted false-flag framejobs. It doesn't take shenanigans to explain why Moot would want to cut Vivian James and company loose.

 

I can see that, so why in the world did it take him weeks of no show with his mods going ban happy for no clear reason to finally say anything? It was only after three or four weeks in and he was supposedly seen at one of Anita's things that he bothered at all.

What you say is true, but the way he went about it is what seems to be the problem.

I think it's the raging at the last bit of innocence being brutally slaughtered. Maybe that or the fact that 4chan is no longer what it once was. I barely ever went there before, but this felt a bit like someone slapped me.
