Apparently based on a comic. Never read it but seeing this I may have to.

Sweet Jumpin Jiminy Jesus! I've been waiting for this Comic to be given the hollywood treatment(with hopefully better results than x-men). For those who are unfamilliar with The Goon, it's about the adventures of The Goon, and Franky his sidekick, as they battle(Sort of) the forces of the Zombie Priest in an attempt to rid it of the undead. For more information give it a wiki, or buy the TPB's.

The voices for the characters are Clancy Brown(the guy who played the Kurgan in Highlander and, surprisingly enough, Mr. Krabs) as the Goon, and Paul Giamatti(if you don't know who this guy is, go suck start a twelve gauge) as Franky. I'd actually envisioned Giamatti as Franky as I read his dialogue, it just seemed to fit perfectly.

I'd advise that all of you see this trailer, it's pretty damn funny.

The only thing that sucks though is that the release date is still TBD. Boo-fuckin-Hoo.

I am tempted to order the series just to acquaint myself with this before it comes out. I am a fan of Darkhorse Comics as it is.

 

Just in case you're wondering what kinda guy The Goon is, here is a bit of his dialogue from the first chapter, verbatim:

"I just had to pistol whip my way through a million rats the size of st. bernards because of you people... Everybody get in line for your beatin!"

That, ladies and gentlemen, is why the goon is win.

 

Acquired the comics from TPB, will read eventually.

 

Jesus. I'm reading the TPB's again. Screw St. Brutus', that place is for pussies. Try the McGreg Home For Illegitemate, Wayword, and Possibly Homicidal Youth.

Also, I think the best part of the books to make a movie from would be the Buzzard Saga. Lots of ass-kicking, good story, and plenty of humor to keep you laughing.
