There's enough HK here for me to wholeheartedly love this. That homicidal droid needs to appear in some movie.

 

I should reiterate that I love everything about this story bar the pranking (ugh).

Maybe I'm not a big fan of Harry's promoscuity either, but I don't even remember if that was the case. Feels like it's been years since I've started reading this...

 

It does alienate us from his canon character, I agree. I think the important thing here is that it's not a huge part of the story. That makes a big difference. Had the promiscuity really been on display all the time, then it would have been a shitty story.

 

Harry has only had sex with one girl (Kalu). How is that being promiscuous?

 

To be completely fair here, a properly trained HP wizard is hilariously OP in nearly any other universe. Harry having a spell/potion/item that can get him out of a jam both makes sense for his character in this story (former dark wizard hunter), and makes sense in-universe.

This I read as Harry looking to give the Jedi shit for something he caught them doing, and not actually him having any moral issue with using questionable methods to get things done. It also sends a message to the Jedi; "I know what you're trying to do, and I don't appreciate it."

Well, Harry does mention having a girl for each planet iirc. Not sure how serious he was being but eh.

 

I don't see that as particularly bad. It is certainly understandable, and the execution is good enough to avoid the usual pitfalls.

 

I guess open would be the better word. He shows tendencies of being a man-whore. And also, his comments about the French auror's wife, Gabrielle, and Delacour's wife do leave a bit of a sour taste in your mouth. He's unscrupulous in his sexual dealings. It's well done in this fic, but... yeah.

 

So now we're getting mad that a single guy on the prime of his life wants to sleep with women? Is that what we're doing?

I don't like man whores. I wasn't exactly ott with my opinion because I couldn't remember if that was the case in his story.

Hardly. I'd honestly just prefer him a bit more scrupulous, personally. It's a very insignificant peeve with this story, which doesn't measurably change my appreciation of it.

 

Don't like men whores either, always liked loyal characters, not matter what their moral inclinations are. His lack of any emotion except amusement and cockiness does get grating fast.

 

So all the stuff there at the end, where he is honestly empathizing with Anakin, wasn't emotion?

 

That's why I specified in the side story. I think that a few pranks by anakin would fit in perfectly there, I completely agree that harry pulling a bunch of pranks would ruin the story.

 

I don't necessarily mind that Harry's a bit of a playboy, but I do find it annoying that he seems to be pretty sexist in his views of women. And in the story, they all seem like Bond girls who just want to get into his pants. It's paragraphs like this:

Hopefully we don't have to wait another year for another update.

 

Wow, thats uncanny. I remember thinking that this was James Bond in space with magic when I was reading the latest chapter. Guess I'm not the only one.

 

I haven't got the feel of James Bond at all. Bond sees women as trophies or something to be conquered, this Harry is an opportunist, who takes the chances he gets, because why not. James Bond is no-nonsense bordering on cold almost all the time, this Harry is ... I honestly have no idea how to discribe him. Nice guy with a nasty streack?

Edit: I think it depends on what version of Bond you think of.
