He's a "Why the fuck not" kind of guy. While he does plan for long term goals -get rich- he's still impulsive and does what he feels like doing, namely creating mayhem with a psychopathic 'protocol' droid while getting lucky with a space babe.


I'm cool with that.

 

I think it's somewhat odd that people have a problem with Harry sleeping with women who practically throw themselves at him or him being slightly sexist, while they don't seem to have as big a problem with him threatening, maiming, killing and mind-controlling his way across the galaxy, even if it sometimes is by proxy through HK.

 

No one's really pontificating here. But don't tell me you're not (more than) slightly fond of the gallant, badass Harry trope. It's a minor gripe at best with this story for most of us, I bet.

 

Sure, who doesn't like a badass as long as it's within reason? Gallant? Definitely not. I dislike it if the hero is too perfect and too nice. It's good when they have flaws and are rough around the edges. It makes them seem more like actual human beings rather than just being an amalgamation of ideas that represents the authors ideas of what a hero is supposed to be.

 

But there lies the problem. Harry is only an asshole or cruel to people who either deserve it or he doesn't feel any repercussions. In my opinion he is too perfect, in the sense that he behaves like a human being, but always the right way in the right situation. Something like loosing his patience and pissing the wrong person off would be a nice change.

The HP magic is broken but then it's up to the author to exploit Harry's weaknesses. For example, every major player should know by now that they can't enter Harry's ship somehow. Bad-guy-solution: Get one of Harry's crew, put explosives on him and mindtrick him to explode on the ship.

 

'Pissing the wrong person off' works the other way around as well. We heard that Harry inadvertently killed 27 Jedi just because he appeared in the Temple (and resulting in a thousand other deaths).

Do you think the Jedi would risk pissing him off, if they couldn't be sure whether he could do it again? I highly doubt it. The Sith maybe, but I think the Emperor has plots that haven't been revealed yet. And if someone could rip a tear in the force and killed your best/favorite apprentice, you would be cautious, wouldn't you?

 

I just found this fic and it's awesome especially when there are only two or three SW/HP that are worth reading. If you've read the side story to this then you know that Bellatrix is also out there. So for people complaining about Harry being too OP I suggest you wait and see.

 

I feel like you have forgotten that Bellatrix is also in this fic and that the Emperor has been torturing information out of her.

Oh thank god it isn't a necro, I reread the story last week and have been checking in on this thread ever since.

 

My friend I seriously suggest you limit your checks to once a month maybe two. This guy does not update fast at all.

 

Gonna reread, the sampling of HK that I got in this one was not nearly enough. Anyone know any other fics that feature a lot of HK?
