Ha, this was definitely an interesting chapter to read.

"Answer: The antiquated vocalizations are of my Master's home world; a primitive backwater where the natives have barely managed to escape their own gravity well, let alone master hyperspace. The planet's native name is a synonym for dirt, which divulges all you need to know about their technological capabilities. Demand: Now, attach me to my new body."

I was surprised at Anakin being used as a spy. That's pretty crafty of the Jedi.
Really looking forward to how this one goes even more off the canon rails.

This fic can be described as "a stroke of genius".

Wait, what? How do you know this? I mean, its a good guess, but is it implied somewhere that this is so?
And here I was wondering what the fuck he's doing on Telos.

    Edit:
But since it was Harry who killed Maul, doesn't that mean that Phantom Menace hasn't happened yet? Anakin shouldn't have anything to do with the Jedi

According to the side stories, it's set just after the fight on Tatooine.

I totally forgot Anakin wasnt' supposed to be there.

Getting all your chapters for stories totally wiped must be incredibly disheartening.

Wasn't there a farm planet somewhere that reject jedi went to?

From memory, isn't telos basically a massive droid factory?

So many planets in sw though, is hard to keep track.

What I do find hilarious is that most people who know of him would probably say HK is their fav sw character.

He is mine and for my circle of friends and family, we least.

Younglings who didn't pass their trials or attract the attention of a Jedi Master were reassigned to the AgriCorps where there was a chance they might become a Padawan later in life. I can't find a record of Telos being a planet the AgriCorps had a presence on, however. It wasn't just farming the AgriCorps was concerned with though; research was also a large focus.

Telos was originally blown the fuck up by some of Darth Malak's fleets in the Jedi Civil War when its defences were circumvented with the aid of a traitor, Saul Karath. It was in the process of being terraformed back to a more natural state in the years after that particular war, a process that would take at least another three hundred years. Darth Traya claimed Telos would once again become a normal planet (through ninja talking head powers) but beyond that I can't recall a huge amount about it.

Just checked, it definitely was an agricorps planet during revan's time, then it was bombed to shit by malak.

I cbb reading the whole article but it wasn't clear of it was restored, my guess was no because new Jedi order went there and found a sith holocron.

Glad to see this continued. This last chapter did feel somewhat less polished--some language issues, and there was too much telling and not enough showing. I was also puzzled by Anakin's presence on Telos. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. Hopefully it will be explained away later on.

Telos was bombed pre Kotor. When you visit it in Kotor 2 restoration is underway. Obviously a lot can happen in 4000 years but I guess the author is extrapolating from what you see in Kotor 2.

PS does anyone else find those 'sent from my' messages really fucking irritating?

Author is probably just using Kreia's premonitions when she was dying at the heart of the Trayus Academy. Specifically this one (assuming canon Meetra Surik, so light side):

Sorry I guess I wasn't really clear. Kotor 2 tells us that Telos is rebuilt to become an agricultural centre again, but in the 4000 years between then and Phantom Menace that prophecy could easily have come true and then Telos could have been glassed all over again, or anything really.

When I said the author was extrapolating from Kotor 2, I meant he might be ignoring something in the vast swathes of supplementary material which says otherwise - I wouldn't know, partly because there's so much of it I couldn't keep track of it if I wanted to, but mainly because most of it (especially NJO, my god) is absolutely fucking dire.

As far as the more telling and less showing in this latest chapter, the author has stated that he is going to try reducing the detail in the story in order to increase it's pace. He agreed that the story was moving along a little too slow, since in the course of the first 7 chapters, only a day had passed.

Which is a fine speed as long as the story stays interesting...

He did state that, yes, but there is the saying: throwing the baby out with the bath water. The details were what made the first 7 chapters enjoyable and interesting, for me at least.

He could try writing longer chapters. That'd solve both problems.
