There are 3 short chapters i'm liking this story at the moment.
Basically now its Harry goes to the pet shope to get a new owl after Hedwig is killed by Vernon and finds himself with an extra pet.
The snake seems to be Slytherin in his animagus form who slleps a long time until Harry awakes him. It has a very good potential.

 

Its got potential, its a pretty sound idea. However, I'd like to see some elaboration of Hedwigs death, it seems just kinda thrown in there. I would have said it was thrown in there as an excuse for Harry to angst - except he really doesn't care! Seriously, he's really not showing much emotion or reaction.

It really does have potential - I can see Salazar teaching him more about the Wizarding World and etiquette if this turns out to be a political fic, or teaching him knowledge if this turns out to be a Dark/Independent or something, fic.

I do have a serious feeling that this is going to dissapoint - but hey, call me pessimistic.

 

Hey I'm really happy that he didnt elaborate too much. Its different from the Phoenix!Hedwig cliche where Harry cries and cries and suddenly Hedwig returns white\green\black phoenix!

 

Yeah this isn't the worst idea I've ever heard but the writing is a bit crap and there's way too much pussy/moron!Harry for my tastes.

 

Thats true, and I'm not saying Hedwig has to be brought back to life in any form. Perhaps I'm just hankering for some Vernon Dursley beating. I mean, Harry's not the type to sit around crying in a situation (even Canon!Harry wouldn't do that :O) so if he saw his owl dying, I'm sure he'd get some revenge. Perhaps the author will do that with Salazar the Snake. I can see the snake choking Vernon right now.. Right, I need to remember this isn't a dark fic

 

Well, this is interesting so far, but I don't have high hopes of this story... This seems just like a neat little idea, without much backstory or subplots to expand it into a real novel. I'm affraid that this might get abandoned as soon as the author finishes with exploring his original idea... but I could be wrong, of course, you never know.

 

Speaking of Pheonix.... I kindda remember a fic where Hedwig seduced Fawkes....

Story sounds good thought.... Thought I think they should have mentioned something about how/why Hedwig died.

Sepanto, I honestly can't remeber what I was thinking when I posted that. Seriously, I don't.

 

Not in my opinion, no. Besides, its only like 3000, 4000 words of not much happening.
I can summarise:
First chap: Chapter starts in pet shop. Harry looks around, at end of chapter sees snake.
Second chap: Harry talks to snake, buys snake, leaves shop at end of chapter.
Third chap: Harry talks to Tom @ Leaky Cauldron, talks to snake, learns snake is Slytherin.

That really is it.

 

i would advise you o wait for a while before readng it, so that more chapters are added, it will become more worth while that way.

And that's it. There's nothing else. 3 chapters. 4k words. Abandoned long ago.
