    Title: The Imposter Complex
    Author: Notus Oren
    Rating: T
    Genre: Adventure/Supernatural
    Status: In-Progress
    Library Category:
    Pairings:
Summary: Tom Riddle escapes at the end of Chamber of Secrets, and is quite surprised to find that nothing about the future is as he ever thought it would be. Soon, Tom finds himself on a globe-spanning quest to follow the path his forebear blazed and perhaps, at the end, to put a stop to him once and for all.

    Pros:
    - Decently written
    - Powerful competent main character sans bashing, who is also not super OP by default; we see him work for it
    - Engaging fight scenes and lots of cool magical ideas and worldbuilding (alchemy, flamels, divinities, magic from other cultures)
    - ~200k words
    - Cool lore integration
    - Enough layers that there's foreshadowing, earlier elements seem to matter to the plot later and get built on

    Cons:
    - Some of the plot progression and character development felt a bit hamfisted, but not terrible
    - Probably abandoned

    Rating: 4/5

This was definitely worth reading, surprised I didn't see it posted here. FWIW the author didn't come out and say it was abandoned, but there hasn't been an update in 5 years. Even so, I still recommend giving it a read if you're looking for something. The author has a bunch of DLP favorites in their FFN favorites and mentions them as influences on the story in a couple places too.

The Diary horcrux, like the summary says, escapes and joins the fray. I was pretty engaged the whole way through. Pulling from ffn reviews I agree with - the character's more amoral than Evil, following the adventures of the character is fun and there's also some self discovery.

It reminded me of a Dresden without the cringe and with more cool lore, or Shezza's Denarian trilogy, but with less of the teenager/edgy humor.

It didn't come up when I searched - thanks.

Edit: It didn't come up because I was mispelling 'imposter', lol
