It is late and this is a derp post. I am a fucking idiot. Originally, this post decried your reasoning because he lost his face, but...hands. Yeah.

Lamora signing out. This is what calculus does to a man.

Bumi was still wrinkled as fuck though. As you can see from Amon's hands, he is not.

I just found out last night that there's an official comic book by Dark Horse that's going to cover some of the time between The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

It's going to be a Trilogy but only Part 1 is out at present. It's taking place mostly one year after the end of AtLA, which leaves room for later ones as well if we're lucky.

The Promise is old news. Part 1 feels like it was written by a six-year-old.

I leafed through Part One. Not great. If anything from that turns out to be relevant to the show, I'm sure it'll be explained there enough for anyone to understand it.

Have been sitting on this idea for a while. Sharing it now because I just had a nightmare featuring Amon that scared me shitless.
Some time in the future Amon will attack the Air Temple island while Korra is away, and after his family was captured Tenzin will be forced to surrender. Amon will take away Tenzin and all the kids' airbending, leaving a barely trained Korra as the last airbender - who must now learn to airbend through the pure theories from Tenzin and watching the Sky Bisons (since it was said back in ATLA that the Air Nomads learned airbending from the animals).

In the end, after Amon is defeated, Pema will give birth to Tenzin's fourth child, who is an airbender and can continue the "family business" so to speak.

Eh, not really that interested in that. We already did the "Last Airbender" bit and I'm not eager to repeat it already. Bad enough that Aang was responsible for repopulating Airbenders in the world, but to leave it to one of his grandkids next? Eh, just... feels weird. There's better ways it could go, though I could see Tenzin losing his abilities possibly.

Newest episode.... Well, forget plot, this one's all filler.

I am not ashamed to admit that I was giggling like a schoolgirl throughout. The awkwardness of the teen romance is so exceptionally... awkward.

I'm not remotely interested in the whole pro-bending thing, so this episode was pretty dull. Tenzin's kids are cool though.

Also, I really dislike the little recap at the start of the episodes.

I'm really hoping this episode was just a rare anomaly, the relationship dynamics were annoying and the probending seems so unimportant. Bolin's particular brand of immaturity is also pretty jarring to me.

It did actually feel like Korra was screwing with Bolin, and that bugged me somewhat. I hate that kind of romance drama/angst in my media. The rest of the teenage romance awkwardness was alright given that it was interspersed with all the bending and whatnot. But LOL @ Bolin the drama queen. At least they seemed to get most of the drama out of their systems in this episode, hopefully it will be more to the side from here on out.

I think that was just Korra's ignorance/naivety rather than her trying to screw with Bolin.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode despite the subject matter not being to my usual taste. It's the first time I actually found Bolin to be amusing. And I don't the same problem with Pro-Bending that everyone does; it's enjoyable in its own way.

I don't mind Pro-Bending that much. It's fun to watch.

I'm not sure what to think about how fast they're moving with the relationships in this. TLA had the whole "will they or won't they?" with Katara/Aang for the entire run, but here we've got established relationships by the fourth episode. I kind of think they should have developed it more, but on the other hand I want them to get it over with. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

TLA was a bunch of preteens not knowing how to act on their feelings.

Bolin, Mako, and Korra are all well into their teens -- and all assertive and not afraid of voicing their feelings. Of course they wouldn't tip toe around each other for 3 seasons.

It also felt more of a parody about the usual way these kind of romance subplots go than anything else, seeing that it had a triangle romance on fast forward and that had me laughing quite a bit. They got most of it out of their system and provided a few laughs, so I was happy with it.

I know she wasn't trying to screw with Bolin, but she was screwing with him nonetheless (at least for a while there). That just bugs me, but it passed quickly (by the end of the episode) so it's neither here nor there.

It also occurs to me that despite many of the complaints about the pro-bending aspect of this series that... well, that's really moving along at a rapid pace. It looks like the finals are going to be next episode, and if that's the case then the entire subplot will probably be complete at the end of episode 6. It will have served a few purposes, one of which is providing Korra with some companions, and that's not bad for a start. I expect that if we weren't waiting a week between episodes it wouldn't seem like such a hindrance to the "real" plot.

Its nice to see Korra have some capacity to fight Lt. Lightning, even if she is critically weak to ambushes. I hope we see more of her strength as a fighter, and more of her incorporation of airbending.
