My kneejerk reaction is to point out that when have Slytherins actually ever been cunning or amibtious. But then, it's jbern - maybe he'll take it down a different path - a sort of 'one time too many'.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that a 'friend' of Krum's just happened to mention in Draco's presence that such a potion existed, perhaps leaving a copy of the recipie hanging around, as the lad's too stupid to come up with something like that on his own.

I'm sure Draco's little band will say "Draco was framed!!!11!!!eleven", and everyone else will say "STFU and make me some pie" and then proceed to beat Draco to a pulp with Salazar's petrified cock.

    Fourth Level of Hell

Just before the river Styx is the Fourth Level of Hell. Here, the prodigal and the avaricious suffer their punishment, as they roll weights back and forth against one another. You will share eternal damnation with others who either wasted and lived greedily and insatiably, or who stockpiled their fortunes, hoarding everything and sharing nothing. Plutus, the wolf-like demon of wealth, dwells here.

Interesting discussions about the levels of hell. Garrett has a nice idea about the rune irritating Draco when he is actively trying to hide it. If that makes it in to the story, I'll be sure to credit him. Same goes for the rest of you folks for the enlightening discourse on Runes.

Anyway, I hadn't mentioned it here, but I did on ffa. I have made my very first short story sale. I get a whopping $14.86 for it. (I know don't spend it all in one place, but I've got to start somewhere.) The story called "Reality Bites!" will be on a site called Drabblecast sometime before the end of May. It's the story of a newly turned vampire trying to collect on his life insurance policy and the ensuing frustrations he experiences.

Drabblecast is a free audio/podcast - kind of an odd start to my career, but it's a tough market out there for short fiction. There's no money in it and everyone puts out their best stuff hoping for a bit of exposure.

Anyway, progress is slow on TML 6, but I'll find a groove this week assuming I don't end on jury duty. I should know in two to three weeks if a second story called "Lieutenant Armchair" is selected for Permuted Press's Giant Creatures Anthology. The editor sounded pretty high on it, so I think I'll make the cut.

That's good news indeed Jim. Good luck, and don't forget about us when you've made your millions. ;)

Let me work on making it to thousands before I start thinking about millions. Hell, even hundreds first.

    Could be... that's an option.
I'm also thinking along the lines of it triggering when he acts dishonorably in the future as well.

Just give it an escape clause... like, if you act honorably for 3 years the mark goes away. But if during that 3 year period you screw up and act baddly enough to trigger it, it starts over each time you trigger it. (With some leeway built in) Sort of a thing where if you've shown you've grown up that the punishment can wear off and also keep it minor in nature.

Sweet...But seriously.. don't worry about something like that, I was just theorizing, I'm sure you'd already had plans for the rune... Crediting me for something I'm sure you've already considered beforehand isn't necessary.

Congrats... and I've got my fingers crossed for you on the LA story. I thought it was awesome... and good enough for a series.

How amusing that it halfway looks like Harry's lightning bolt scar!

I feel like a complete moron for not reading this story when I first discovered it. The concept of a blending of James and Harry kind of put me off. I started reading it today and it has sucked me in quite thoroughly. I am currently reading the chapter titled "Bartering the Truth". I especially like the fact that this story does not follow the canon timeline. I can't wait to finish the rest of what has been written.

I figured that this would compete with Bungle for jberns affections, and that he should abandon this and Darkness. I refused to read it, even swore off internet to avoid it.

This is so much cooler than Bungle, though. I've seen past my heathen ways.

Welcome to the dark side my friend, and I have to agree, this trumps Bungle! Even though Bungle is a good read.;)

I disagree completely, Lie is good but it ain't that damned GREAT! Bungle roasts this stories ass on sheer inventiveness compared to the rest of the crap out there. Not to mention that the Harry is much cooler in Bungle than in Lie....

*weeps* How can you dare to make us choose one over the other? Just shut up and enjoy it! Oh and just so you know, Jim, my birthday is coming up. I think a new chapter would do nicely as a gift.

Bungle wipes the floor with this. As great as this is it aint bungle. How can you say any fic where Hermoine tells off Harry for talking about having sex and his response is: “Actually, we’re just talking about your virginity, Hermione. Literally, mine’s somewhere back in Brazil. " is not the greatest fic ever.

This is good... Very good... Bungle is also excellent... Overall (must-drag-self to a decision!) I probably prefer Live I've Lived just because of how rare it is to find such a great 1st person perspective HP fic, Admittedly, I don't think I know of any other 2nd person perspective fics, let alone any as brilliant as Bungle, but for me hearing HJ conspire with his fucked up advisor makes this edge out Bungle, by an edge. An extremely thin one, but its still there.

+This has Harry/Fleur, and there is such a criminal shortage of good fics with this pairing that an appearance of the French nymph can only spell good things.

    Suck it! We win!

The Lie I've Lived is officially better than Bungle! Someone should post a poll.

    It's a tossup....

Lie I've Lived has a sweet 1st person POV and the Hat wins for the lulz.

But then again, Bungle and TML has that 2nd person perspective, and you have that Bill and Harry's Excellent Adventure, duuuude.

    Decisions....decisions....

Oh Shit I forgot about the hat. THE HAT MUST HAVE A TOMMY GUN!!!!

Bungle Harry reminds me off the hat in Lie Ive Lived.

I still say Bungle is better but the hat makes it really too close to be certain.
