Prank wars can be lame if over done. A prank here and there is good as long as it isn't the central focus.
But revenge is justified.

 

If Jim decides to do a prank war expect it to be fairly well done, rather than some fangirlesque bullshit showing how "Prongslet" or "Pup" is truly a Marauder v2.0.

If that was the kind of shit bern was pumping out, I doubt many of us would be reading it.

A prank here and there is fine, but it becoming anything more than a shadow in the darkness of this story would ruin it.

most of the time that is because the authors who use them aren't much more mentally developed than fangirls and can't come up with anything truly spectacular. A good prank war, with most of the action happening 'off camera' and the results being anonymous and visible is a bit more than tolerable.

You know, something involving noses, parts of the male anatomy that usually remain well covered and Switching spells...very visible and funny as hell.

 

I think the what really makes the whole pranking thing lame is how many stories use the same stuff and there is no imagination (except this one). You gotta admit, shit spiders is pretty original.
