I have never read the first int he series but if 'Rise, Lord Voldemort' is anything to go by....it's insane. This story is awesome, no getting around it. I am so upset that the author seemingly gave up.....

This is the story of how Voldemort became such a great wizard....lots of magic.....very interesting.

Tried the first book. Doesn't seem like anything special after the first few chapters.

There's only one true WTF moment - there's no Dumbledore anywhere in sight (he's not transfiguration teacher); add to that rather weak characterisation and lack of any interesting plot twists and you get rather bland story - everything you'd expect is there, but nothing to draw you in and interest you to read on.

Of course, this is only after first several chapters - might get better later on.

Notice I said I never read the first book and that the second was awesome.....I recommend just jumping into the second. There really was nothing in there that made me have to go back and read any part in the first. All will be explained.

And it would stand to reason that as an author writes more and more and gets many different critiques the writing would improve.

From what I can see from the beginnings of this story, the author likes to use dialogue with very little description of what is actually happening.
Also, the "he/she" dialogue irritates me.
Besides the irritating way conversations are written... There isn't anything interesting at all in any of the chapters I've read. The author has just written Riddle's early Hogwarts years. And apparently he doesn't do anything interesting.

And the bland characterization doesn't help.

    2/5 for the first story.
