The Man in the Dress

Alright, if you haven't heard, I'm writting a fan fic aobut Snape being a closet crossdresser and he later gets a sex change to become a woman.

This will not lead to any slash pairing no matter how much it saddens all the sex happy emo fangirls.

Yet I would like some tips so I don't make it sound like one of those horrible Harry gets a sex change and starts dating Malfoy stories. I haven't read one (thank goodness) but at the same time, I want to avoid some cliche things that I might run into.

Ok, that idea could interest me as a side plot offering some humorous relief or maybe even a bit of good old fashioned Snape bashing. But if you want us to feel sorry for the sallow git and angst along with him, then I don't think you'll get much sympathy or help around here.

I think, Quidam, dear, what he means is the idea is utter shit. o.o And he is telling you so in advanced.

Far be it from me to be unfair and bash anything I havent read, but I simply wont read this. The idea sounds horridly ... well... fucking stupid.

Down with Fem!Snape! Vote Fem!Harry for Prezdnt!

Wait, there is going to be angst in my story? Why wasn't I aware of this?

The fic is suppose to be humorous. And why would I want everyone to feel sorry for him? And instead of Snape bashing, would you settle for akward sexual moments?

I really don't give a damn if you read it or not just to let oyu know.

    No.

You can't understand the premise, so I'm just going to skip the explanation and get to the end point. You're retarded.

As a parody/very silly humorous story, this MIGHT work. But then again, if you ARE writing a comedy/parody, then you don't have to worry about cliches - after all, you'll be making fun of them. Thus, your original question is pointless either way.

I think the bigger question would be for what sort of audience would you be writing this fic (since it appears to not include Vash)?

If it's just to bash Snape then it needs to be told from someone else's POV. We have to have a character to agree with or identify with. I know for my tastes, I need to sympathize with the main character.

And this sounds like a Snape-centric fic. Which typically garners an audience of the sex happy emo fangirls.

I think the majority of this board isn't interested in reading a story where we sympathize with Snape in a Snape-centric fic.

Like IP82 said, if this is humor/parody then using the cliches is just as effective if not more than avoiding them.

I think that the best subject for an audience would be people who hate Snape. If you want to go for that audience, then try writing it from Snape's insight. Have his thoughts find their ways into the paragraphs, usually tinged with obvious flamingness (you know, stereotypical gay satire and attitude).
