This is much more an action/adventure story with a side of romance than anything else. It’s one of those rare fics where you don’t read it for the characters or the plot; you read it because it’s totally awesome. The amount of thought and detail Josephine adds to her world of HP is mindboggling. The wizarding culture, traditions, politics, laws, magic, population, ethnicities, ect. It’s just really really fun to read about. The key to reading this is to not worry about OOCness or cliché plot and just let the waves of awesome and badass roll wash over you. This is world building at it’s best.

I've read the first chapter. It's surprisingly not as terrible as I'd anticipated, considering it's a ten year old story...and well the You-Know-What. Further, the tone in which it's written is rather reminiscent of the older fanfiction, that crowd that actually read the books! I might actually use Scryer to look for 200k+ word stories published between 2005 and 2008, just to see what pops up. Might be a long lost forgotten gem somewhere.

Anyway, Voldemort finds the Eye of Odin, which makes him even more powerful than he already was. But young Harry storms in on his Firebolt, covered with his invisibility cloak and snatches the Eye right out of Voldemort's hands, the magical backlash killing a bunch of death eaters.

Fudge wants to adopt Harry in order to get re-elected. Everything is under way and Hermione gets the brilliant idea of having Harry get married. That way, Fudge can't adopt Harry. It is most convenient that Dumbledore is in possession of a very old artifact, the Marriage Stone, which can find one's One True Love.

Of course that happens to be Severus Snape.

It reminded me of Stages of Hope, and reads OK if you pretend it's crack and everything you ever believed about the world was a lie and you're in one of the nicer parts of hell.

Flood of crap like this is basically the reason I have begun to only ever read HP fanfics listed on DLP.

PLEASE FOR FUCK'S SAKE DON'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME

 

Ignore everything and let the badass roll over you guys! Probably like Snape did to Harry in this fic.

 

SS/HP will never be OK. I feel like 100% of Harry's fanfic incarnations would cheerfully feed themselves to the acromantulas rather than have any sort of "relationship" with Snape.
