There is a clear decline in quality in the later chapters. Plotlines are introduced and abandoned on a whim, and the way romance was introduced is more than a little off-putting.

 

I think the author has a Patreon now so he’s probably just banging out chapters to keep up with a schedule for the patrons causing the decline in quality compared to the earlier stuff.

 

Possibly- I read through this recently on FF.net and noticed some author‘s notes that indicated that the author has been dealing with some relatively severe personal problems. And also something about the old beta reader being unavailable.

Wouldn’t be surprised if those are contributing factors as well.

The shift in tone is so abrupt towards the later chapters I can’t help but wonder if the Author skipped to their end-game in an effort to finish the story quicker.

IIRC he had/has some mental issues interfere with things a while back and he also does have a patreon that he IS just writing to get paid by at this point.

It's a shame because the story started off so strong and you could tell the guy had an amazing vision for the end game and an idea of how to get there but somewhere along the way things have gone off track....
