    Shhhh!

If you'd said its name a third time, it would have manifested and taken the reigns for Deathly Hallows.

That moron has put out more turkeys than Butterball.

You guys forget the important thing here: From 0:58 it seems they have replaced the H/G scene with R/Lav. Here is to hope they just left out the whole H/G romance alltogether.

As for the other movies: I liked OotP, so sue me. Sure, there were some shitty things about it (not the whole prophecy etc.) but I enjoyed it. And yes, I even really enjoyed the DoM bit. Maybe the whirlwind transportation wasn't canon, but you know what? Fuck it, it looked good.

You actually enjoyed that whirlwind move, it was something like what my Pidgeot would cast on Pokemon, I mean the Sirius apparating was class just because he punched Lucius but then the crazy vortex chasing death eaters just plain sucked in my opinion.

Each to his own I suppose, I thought OotP had great potential and they fucked it up with under-enthusiasm and removed the scenes that people were most looking forward to. I for one was looking forward to seeing McGonagall get blasted and then get Crap and Boil to carry her bags.

And I bet Daniel Radcliffe is pissed off, he didnt' get to do a destroying session.

Seems like most of you liked the end of that trailer... I though it sucked ass. They took one look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9T5cxnowyA and went LOL! That's funnay let's do that to Harray, British humor lol!

Retards. Fuck you and your shit movies. This movie will blow just like the other ones (Only 1 & 2 that are watchable imho).

What's this? British humour in a British film, set in Britain with British actors playing British characters?

    Shocking.

Though I don't see how the scene at the end of this trailer counts as British humour.

I generally try to never expect a movie to be just a translation from the book to the screen. It's a whole different medium, as many people have said before. As just a movie I thought it was very good.
The DA scenes for example gave me the feeling that Harry actually was doing something, preparing, training.
Also, it was the first time that you had the feeling of a two sided conflict. Not just one evil element that lurks in the shadows, but the start of a war.

    On a completely unrelated note:
Taure, when you mentioned "british actors", I somehow pictured Stephen Fry as Dumbledore. He's kind of a Dumbledore character. Not to mention tall and gay.
Anyway, it gave me a laugh:

No doubt, I wasn't expecting a flawless transition of book to movie but they missed too many good scenes out for me to enjoy it too much.

The only book-movie transition I really disliked in OotP was what they did with the Dumbledore-Voldemort duel. They pandered to the masses in creating a "who can do a more impressive attack" fight rather than showing the tactical, subtle duel that was in the books.

The dialogue between Dumbledore and Voldemort in that duel was part of how great it was in the books too, and they got rid of that pretty much.

@Taure: That was probably done on purpose. Don't wanna give away the whole book in a movie.

...I think I've said this somewhere else, cbf to find the thread.

Best part of a movie that has very bad acting in it's main roles. Though I would have liked to see the statues come alive. I felt cheated when that didn't happen.

h2o: You are a retard. Shoo.

I was thinking more of the fact that Steve Kloves (the script writer) is an American and this series is huge in America. I thought it felt exactly like Extras (Not that Extras is a bad thing, more that it doesn't belong in a HP movie). We are talking about the boy who's always hated the attention, who never used his popularity to get any babes (And I'm presuming that the girl in question was Romilda Vane? She made Harry seriously uncomfortable)... oh wait. You're right, this is Movie-Harry. Forgot that these movies barely have anything to do with canon these days...

@ Dark Syaoran: Grats on calling me a retard. Bet you feel like a big man now that you've "insulted" me :D

Yes. We're talking about a boy. A teenage boy.

    End of discussion.

Its a fucking british film, I don't care how popular it is in America, or what nationality the script writer is.

    You are a retard.

I feel like a big man now too. OMIGOSH.

You guys are too funny :D I still think that scene is very Extras, maybe that's what they were going for, who knows. They have been using Nigel as comic relief after all... although I guess that's at least a bit more original since he's not even in the books.

That scene wasn't Extras at all

    1. He didn't pull out a condom
    2. He didn't accuse Hermione of cock-blocking (do they have that term in England?)
    3. He is the Chosen One, faget* - it was funny, but it wasn't like he was lying. In Extras he was lying about everything.

*Used 'faget' instead of 'retard' so I wouldn't look like a big man. I'm humble like that.

    /sigh

Did I say it was exactly like the scenes in Extras? No. But its close. And yes, I do know he's the Chosen One. But nvm, since you're so intent on disagreeing with me you'll never see it.

It's not that we can't see it, it's that the two scenes have nothing in common other than the actor.

The humour of Extras is a kind of self-concious, breaking the fourth-wall irony, with a load of hyperbole and mockery mixed in.

This scene is none of the above. It's just a witty one-liner.
