I am quite aware that this post has been beaten past the point of death, but reading this post after Vira's flip, I had the visceral reaction it was scum. I'm...not sure why. I kind of want to say it feels like he was thinking through/about what a town thought process would look like? Might be a tone/language issue but it sounds more speculative than a genuine thought.

Is 113 a consistently scummy player? Having encountered a few of those myself, it really comes down to looking for the intent of their posts. I recently championed a townie out of a pretty easy lynch using their intent.

Can you quote a few posts from miner and owner with fake reads? Also what is your experience with Vaimes?

I think it's the focus on the fact that he's not townreading me. Like, he seems to be focusing on what a logical progression from his not-townread on me is? For me, that train of thought goes "if Stanari is town, that's a bad look for Vira" and not "if I'm townreading Stanari, that's a bad look for Vira".

Am I hung up on semantics again? Mrrrrr.

I guess a more articulate way to say this is that it feels like Scott is building worlds on hypothetical reads and not hypothetical realities. I think that comes easier to scum who's thinking about the internal logic of their reads than to town.

Vaimes is town. He's town because Jan, fonti, and myself all meta read him town on D1 at essentially the same time. Regfan also got that strong read upon replacing in. Jan and Reg are confirmed town, I'm town, and I'm decently sure fonti is town. If there's a world where all four of us whiffed on that read, Vaimes kinda deserves this one tbh.

If you want a more detailed answer, search my ISO for his name, I went over it at some point. The tl;dr meta case is that he's extremely flappable under pressure as a wolf, and he wasn't here.

 

Has he even been under pressure this game? Did it happen D1 and he passed the test and been allowed to chill since?

Kind of want to hear your thoughts on it especially considering the way you characterize Vira's interactions with partners are more like, short jabs, and her interactions with town being more, apologetic or something?

I'd kind of like to hash out an Owner/Scott read with you. I feel like we've been reading that slot somewhat similarly throughout the game.

"Scott had genuine sounding posts, Vira's case on him rang w/w alarm bells, Owner is weird and apparently not the Mason, and if this slot is town it's a mislynch scum absolutely need to win" is basically where I'm at.

Kinda would like @Vaimes and @Fable and @Stanari to weigh in here.

It's the same thing you've been pointing out with Owner and Wei. Like, yes, they haven't 400 posted and don't constantly reiterate their reads, but they have words in the thread, they've said things, voted, done things. If you think they're mafia, make a case.

Just saying "man these slots have been quiet lately" isn't really... actionable.

 

I don't really like either of these points; Scott was pretty clearly unviable at the point she unvoted and I...don't think the second one is super problematic.

Everything else...yeah? I'm not as sold as you are on Miner, I think. I also want to look at the 113 stuff in context so consider this a note to seld.

 

I don't know if they're mafia, that's the problem with low content. It's hard for me to get any kind of read off them. I just don't understand how people have a hard TR on someone like that. Vaimes is just kinda There for me.

Owner is the most likely mafia of the three IMO because when she has been here, she had that fake read reversal on me that remains to be continued.

I mean. Maybe this is just a fundamental playstyle difference, but I wouldn't exactly call any of those people "low content." I can track their thoughts, I can go back and look at what they've said about the game.

Dropping / low engagement isn't like, a town thing or anything, but unless there just aren't any other good options, I very rarely would consider that a good reason to actually lynch someone.

Like, Wei probably has at least 5K words ITT solely about his thoughts on 113. There's /meat/ there, you know? How can you just go like "well he's not constantly here so idk".

FWIW the strength of reads I have on those three slots are very different.

Vaimes I'd bet the game is town here, and would be willing to lose if I'm wrong.

Weislot had thoughts and positions that I thought showed a villagery mindset and I could track his thoughts pretty well. I'd put him essentially on a level with you, Yeti, in that I wouldn't exactly be comfortable betting the game on that read, but I feel okay about it.

ScottOwner slot I feel, well, see that post I just made. Not at all confident, and definitely colored by the fact that I didn't stick up as much as I would have / could have for townreads I had that have died to town KP (almost certainly) like Proph and Koalas.

Because I didn't feel newcomb was anywhere near a nk target. So I don't see how townnewcomb could think this, and I've said it before.
