You know what's weird? Remember that phrase from the start of every pokemon game? "Welcome to the world of pokemon!"

What if every pokemon game is an isekai self-insert story. That's why the professors feel the need to explain what the fuck a pokemon is every time; they're aware of the phenomenon and are studying it. Maybe people foreign to the pokemon world are special in some way that makes them much better at training pokemon.
