Sorry about the delay so far. I've not been in a writing mood. Well that's a lie, I'm not in an OSOH writing mood. There's just a particular scene which has got me frustrated and I've not been able to write passionately. I'm afraid you're going to have to wait it out as the next chapter doesn't look like it's going to come out any time soon. I'll tell you what I'll do, I'm going to read through the story so far and see if that inspires me. It just frustrates me because I know that could finish the story within a week if I'm motivated. :x

I've got another confession to make, I've been cheating on this story. Yes, I've been writing another story on the side. Hopefully reading through the fic will make me realise that, for the time being, my loyalties should lie with OSOH.

 

As long as OSOH is taking awhile can we see the other fic you're writing?

 

Oh, i dunno. I'm keeping it under wraps until it's finished so there won't be any lengthy desert periods like with OSOH.

I'll post it in my yahoo group and maybe in the "Work by Author" section here once I have a healthy stock but definitely won't post it out to the masses (ff.net and schnoogle) until it's done.

Ayway, the next chapter WILL be up tomorrow if it's the last thing I do. I got a sudden spark of inspiration and wrote almost the whole chapter today. Not fully satisfied with it but I wasn't expecting anything great from such a disgusting writer's block.

I don't watch Naruto so...yeah, definitely HP.

 

I don't hate the series; I don't know the series.

And what with all the hate piled on the anime and the love given to the manga I'm not certain I ever will. Meh we'll see. The people at the Anime forum I used to frequent told me that the Naturo fiction was mostly a sad morass of slash anyway. (Not like we don't have that problem in Harry Potter too, but it is one more strike against trying to learn the series enough to enjoy the fics..)

Naruto was one of the first fanfiction series i ever started reading. There are quite a few good ones way back in the list, before the Yaoi(slash) fan-girls got hold of it.

 

But yaoi fangirls infest and ruin every fandom. It's inevitable.

 

Good new chapter, dumbledore and his second chances are really starting to piss me off..

That was an OK chapter, especially considering you've had a writter's block.

Battle scenes were very good, mostly flowing nicely and with very good touches (I liked AK in the head without exchanging threats with some nameless jerk).

Dumbledore defending Riddle was too much IMO - I could see him trying to save normal death eaters, but I just can't imagine him showing mercy to Voldemort... On the other hand, it WAS just the beggining of his reign... ah well, at least he's out of his pussy-stage now...

As for Crouch - well, to put it bluntly, you completely screwed up his characterisation. Judging by the canon, Crouch was supposed to be this tough but efficient bastard of a chief of police;NOT the minister - he never became one, he was supposed to run but his son got arrested. He was deffinitely not supposed to be some wuss of a Minister, thinking only about his own career. I think that you actually confused Crouch with Fudge, even his manerisms and speach patterns (which are completely different - Crouch doesn't 'sputter', he's supposed to be articulate and stiff etc...). Hell, you even started calling him Fudge:

Well, anyway, at least Crouch is dead now, so there shouldn't be more problems regarding his character...

 

Regarding Crouch, I had to bend his character to suit the plotline. I exaggerated a certain feature of his: Azkaban filling. He suspects Harry and wanted any suspicious charcters in Azkaban. Remember Bagman? Crouch seriously thought that Harry belongs in Azkaban and wanted to do everything in his power to do so.

He became Minister in OSOH because of the murder of the previous Minister. I'm aware he didn't get it before bu once again, I bent canon to suit my needs and Crouch became the Minister.

I'll put my hands up and say I didn't do Crouch well, it's true. In my mind's eye, when I think of 'Minister' I think 'Fudge' so I guess in a way, crappy!Crouch was inevitable. That and I haven't read GoF in years. The only reason why I don't mess up other characters is because I read certain chapters in canon again just to check. So concerning Crouch's mannerisms, my bad. Will fix that "fudge" mistake now.
