Cho might work, but her character was utterly demolished of depth (alliteration) in book 5.
Luna, being so out there and spacey would be more mailable to work with, but she just can't really show real emotions. She will be ruined as a character if that happens.

 

I agree, a Luna with emotions apparent to all WOULD kill her character. I read an interesting fic where she only revealed her true self to Harry in a way and would keep on her mask around others. That could work. But an emotionless killer would make a wonderful Luna, no?

 

Maybe more of a Bellatrix in Luna? not the crazy witch we see in OOTP, but more like the defiant and proud witch we see in GOF.

 

Pride and defiant could work. I have always viewed Luna as someone who sees outside of the normal parameters of society and what everyone holds to be truths. Thats the kind of Luna I would want to create, someone along the lines of a revolutionist... well... I want to create a plausible Luna for instituting a new order alongside Harry.

 

I've decided to go with a Luna pairing for this story and Cho for my next story that I have been playing with in my mind.

I have also started writing the first act/chapter of the story. Have 11 pages down and going at about four pages or more a day, as was today's progress. I'm going to write the first two act/chapters before I post anything, but in the mean time I would like to throw out to position of beta for anyone who is interested in given me suggestions and fixing that voodoo grammar. Preferrable someone who has written a dark!harry fic before, beta'd before, or has some noteriety around these hallowed forums.

haha exactly, the man problem i have with the outline is there is way too much angst, harry might as well cut his wrists now..

 

The angst has been severely taken down in the write up.

 

Yeah, the whole story seems like Harry is doing nothing but crying and whining. His godfather died, wow, you'd think after all the lectures about death Dumbledore has given him, he'd at least have a fleeting thought that maybe, Sirius is in a better place with his parents. The angst in this just seems illogical to me, but I never liked stories centered around angst, so I'm probably bias against the idea.

 

If Luna is to be difiant, would that not make her not take shit from nobody? to not cave into anyone? well in OotP she does just that. By letting people thieve and hide her belongings and not even putting her two cents worth in is kinda weak?
