Agreed. Reading about Draco/Hermione is no fun at all. Reading about Draco in general is no fun but...hey you get my point.

Your point isn't a point at all. It's not an argument. It's just you stating that you don't like Hermione. Fine, but that has little bearing on- well, anything.

Whether you like Hermione or not, having something in the story that goes 100% against her character's personality, with virtually no build up, is going to detract from the whole.

I don't give a shit about Umbridge but if there were suddenly a spot in this story where she opens a half-way house for down on their luck centaurs, it would detract from the story.

If Snape were to suddenly start tutoring Neville in potions and researching how to heal the boy's parents, it wouldn't make any fucking sense, and the fact that I hate Snape has no bearing on that.

Dropping shit that makes no sense into the story, without some preparation and/or warning, detracts from it. Not liking the character involved doesn't nullify or mitigate that, in fact, I'd think it would make it even worse.

No, my point was more along the lines of "Missing the forest for the trees."

Your focus is entirely on Hermione, and she could hardly be more irrelevant (She got all of about two paragraphs out of the entire chapter).

Tell you what: I'll agree to disagree if you will. (Otherwise you're going to get the last scene from Malfoy's POV. :))

I'm more surprised that Nukular could stomach writing that, lol.

My focus isn't entirely on Hermione, that's just where the (most egregious) problem is. There are other issues with this story that others have mentioned (the potential of the subplots bloating and making the story meander), but this is the one that is the immediate problem.

If, in the next chapter, Professor Sprout mooned the student body in the great hall and screamed, "Voldemort was framed!", by your logic it wouldn't matter how out of character she was behaving, because she's barely appeared in the story.

Pfft. It's hard not to agree that we disagree, that much is obvious.
Honestly, no scene you could threaten with would bother me, unless it were put in the actual story.

I agree that there isn't much more to say about this though.

A fucking awesome fic for which I'm glad I put aside my initial misgivings. A shame it hasn't been updated in half a year...

I had hoped this story would be continued and not abandoned.
but it didnt happen, I am not relaly sure if this is abandolned.

Isn't the last update not too long ago (as in a few months ago)?

The thing with jon3776 is not to anticipate updates. If they come, it's a bonus.

Expecting an update once a year is reasonable enough too.

It's not like Jon finishes his stories anyway. He can certainly write involving beginnings though.
