On the topic of haunter...I hadn't thought of it. It'd be interesting, but Haunter's much more useful in his current form than he would as a totally-corporeal Gengar.

Am I missing something? Who says Gengar are totally corporeal? In the anime they float about and dissapear just as often as Haunter do.

 

Gastly and Haunter are, in the games, almost weightless (0.2kg). Gengar however weighs 40kg. Also, it is mentioned that he constantly absorbs heat and that there is a sudden drop of temperature in his presence.

While the story isn't really based on the above sources, it might play a part.

That is true. It would be interesting to see this world's take on Haunter/Gengar against Snorlax, as they wouldn't normally affect one another (unless they have TM's, of course).

 

From the way Dawn was shown earlier, I predict that they will be forced to travel together. They will fight all the time and hate each other and, occationally, have angry sex together.

Slowbro is an odd choice and I doubt he'll keep Misty's Vaporeon close by. Maybe her Blastoise.

 

Slowbro made me wut, but Vaporeon makes sense to me. What we've seen of it so far seemed pretty ninja. And aren't we forgetting about Pidgeot?

 

Arcanine was not mentioned either. Seems quite reliable to have and his battle with RoboArbok was awesome.

I doubt it. No one would intentionally handicap themselves like that. However I doubt they would want to carry 20+ it just wouldn't be practical.

I guess Ash will offer to release the ones that want to go and keep the rest.

 

Yeah, I'm interesting in seeing just how many realistic changes the author will make when it comes to some of the more... questionable restrictions.

I haven't done much with Pokemon in the last 7 years, apart from playing through Gold on my iPhone about 4 months ago, as such I don't really remember what's canon and whats not.

 

Even if the restriction was in place, I doubt Haunter would officially count.
