I read somewhere scheduled release date was September in Japan, but I can't remember where... Serebii says "scheduled for 2010" ... I'm kind of hoping it's not December, since that would mean an English translation won't be finished for at least three quarters of a year. Guess I'll need to brush up on my moonspeak.

Looks like a teenage mutant ninja turtle covered in napalm. What's it meant to be? And is it fully confirmed? (seriously curious)

 

It's a Magmortar. It says so right on the pic. Also, it's fourth gen, so yeah definitely confirmed.

 

Diamond/Pearl, Platinum and SS/HG have all been released during September, with dates such as the 12th, 13th and 28th being specific days. US/EU releases typically followed mid march the following year. Take that as you will, but, all DS games having a similar release schedule could be a decent indicator when Gen 5 will be released.

 

Made an account just for this, hoping to stick around in the discussions for a while.

We have a new chapter! Chapter 11 is up, and a certain someone has made a surprisingly early appearance.

I'm not entirely confident that having him show up this early is a good idea, but 50cal got us this far so I'm going to trust that he knows what he's doing.

And the reunion at the end made me squeeee (which in turn made my cat look at me like I had just grown another head).

 

After the last chapter I have hopes of this story being planned out into a second Johto storyline.

This is packing it on pretty heavy with the fire pokemon, huh?

This also makes me wonder about the inevitable meeting between Ash and Mewtwo and/or Mew.

This makes me doubt that Mewtwo is what Team Rocket are looking for in Cerulean cave.

What else is there too say?

 

Not necessarily; Mewtwo is such a powerful pokemon it could easily be psychically sending itself to somewhere like Lavender without ever leaving the comfort of its cave. Remember that in canon it was strong enough to cause a storm that would have ended pretty much all life in the world if it had gone on, and in this fic pokemons' powers are dialled up to their logical extreme. Mewtwo is probably on the level of a minor god in terms of sheer ability in this.

 

Oh I'm not doubting that for a second. I'm thinking that if Team Rocket actually got into the cave he'd destroy them so he shouldn't need to be scared. Now if something important to him was in te cave and he was occupied elsewhere, he'd have a much better reason to work through Ash.

Fun chapter, for all sorts of reasons...

Any bets on the next 'capture'? Ash now has Pikachu/Arcanine/Haunter and had a Fearow. Misty has Blastoise and Starmie, and had Staryu. My money's on Misty acquiring Gyarados during however the story lampshades the SS Anne, or Ash getting Bulbasaur (or at least some other grass-type) in the wilds before Vermillion.
