So I did.

So yeah, 2 fire, 1 electric, 1 ghost (unofficial) and a dead flying. There's really no need for him to acquire water or rock, so I'm still betting on Bulbasaur.

 

He may need a water if they need to surf anywhere. Though, Misty could probably help with that.

 

Would surfing be a viable option? Just think of how many things could kill them in the water.

 

Which is why they will need many water types swimming alongside them.

 

I am not and I never will really ever be a full-blown PokeShipper, but the chapter didn't send me running to the hills, so yay for that. Haunter = awesome.

 

If there's more than one of those Town-destroying Gyarados out there, I'm thinking Surf's pretty much out the question, no matter what.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing some Psychic abilities. I'm reminded of Scanners, though I'm thinking that would be a bit too h4x!!1!

 

Just started reading this, and I must say it's quite a well written fic.

I've just gotten to chapter 9, and I've noticed that Bill is Mordan Solus from Mass Effect 2.

 

Enjoyed the latest chapter, as always.

If I had one wish for this story, its that it would update faster.

Overall, I found the Ash/Misty very tastefully done. Haunter was pretty fucking cool. Thinking about it, he's done a hell of a lot in 12 chapters. Looking forward to more.

 

No, he shouldn't. Haunter outside of a pokeball is all kinds of dangerous. With him, Ash can mimic being a psychic. It's essentially impossible to disarm him.

He gets thrown in a jail? Haunter unlocks the door.

Needs to intimidate someone? Haunter moves things and Ash pretends its him.

In any case, I expect a psychic Pokemon to be upcoming.

4/5 for making pokemon completely un-gayfail.

 

I'm not saying he should keep it in the ball. I'm just pointing out that he hasn't actually caught it, yet. It could decide to leave and there isn't a damn thing he could do about it.

 

It will be interesting to see exactly how Ash will go around using Haunter. Also the thing with the towns being at war with each other was an interesting bit. I wonder how Ash and Misty will get involved with this, and on what side at that.

 

I don't think that's even the most useful thing about Haunter.

It's a ghost type. In Saffron, that makes him pretty much unstoppable. Fighters can't touch it, and psychics become useless around it.

Haunter is total pwnage.

 

Haunter is a Ghost/Poison type which means that in a fight with any psychic type it pretty much comes down to who is faster.

 

I can't wait to see the hardcore versions of things like Toxic, Sludge Bomb and Dream Eater.

This story continues to win.

 

I think we've already seen Toxic by James' Weezer and sludge bomb/ acid by Arbok and yes they rocked. Their overall strategy put them head and shoulder's above the rest of the encounter's in bad-ass'itude.

Everytime I read more of this story I am just floored by how well such a seemingly obvious twist could paint an entire world differently. Truly what fanfiction is about. You do have to wonder how many other stories there are out there, which a similar thing could be done. I mean if pokemon of all things could work...

 

This. I stayed away it from it for ages, then all the positive reviews made a little curious so I went and read it. Good shit. 4/5 from me as well.

 

Updated, and a win update too. A tad small, but it turned out well I think. Team Rocket continues to be unknown, and our protagonists seem to be just bent on surviving right now.

Vermillion, well, Surge will be interesting I presume.
