Maybe, but she might just be barricaded into a cell block with no way out.

Although, I don't know if you remember the camera sort of watching Carol from the woods as she was practicing cutting into the walker. It almost seemed like she was being watched by someone.

Also possible that she was forced out of the prison by walkers somehow.

I really don't think he could have controlled a large group of soldiers.

It would be hard to take any large group of people at all who rely on each other and not someone else.

For example, I can't see him taking Rick's group unless he had to. Hard to control a group of people over one or two who just want safety and won't ask questions.

As others have been pointing out, it is far easier to assimilate individuals than groups who possess a connection with each other. Although that doesn't explain why the killed the first soldier unless you believe to be merely precautionairy.

As for Carol, well we are given trails that her death wasn;t just a death in the pre episode for next week.

Might have another case of "where's Sophia? " "she was in the barn all along" with carol. She shows up at zombie-gladiator :awesome

The governor and his ilk was far more extreme and twisted in the comics. The TV version we see here is already extreme for TV audience but I doubt we'll see the visceral rape moments from the comic or the cannibal gang which amputated body parts and kept the victims alive as a food source. THAT was really nasty.

Think of the film version as a collection of themes of the comics than a film version of the comic. There are too many character and plot differences. Some things happen to different characters than in the source too.

For instance the death of Lori+Baby happened completely differently in the comic. A really strong scene then and somehow tragic and meaningless. But then the scene in the film had a lot impact too where Carl had to shoot his own mother. Furthermore we don't know if the Baby survives.

The comics are more nihilistic than the TV version. In the later books the story cycles too much through group building and yet another death without that much real progress. At least I got the impression of a never ending repeat of the winning concept than a long term story with some strategy elements.

Just re watched the episode. Rick does insane well. Thought Glenn might be getting a axe to the head there for a minute.

Liked Merle in this episode, although Glenn was pretty stupid to let Merle get so close.

And Andrea is thinking with all the wrong organs.

Never really liked Andrea, so hardly care about her plot at all, and yeah, Merle should have got shot as soon as he jerked for his gun. I guess Glenn wasn't all that interested in having to tell Daryl that he killed his brother.

This is the only reason he would hesitate. I think it should've been made explicit. Totally broke my suspension of disbelief.

All it would've taken is one line from Glenn: "Stop. Right there. I wouldn't wanna tell Daryl I killed his brother."

I prefer not having things spelled out for me. TV should make you think.

Anybody else notice that Daryl has been a better mother in two episodes than Lori was in two seasons? :awesome

Or Glenn might simply have trouble killing anyone, even when they deserve it. He froze in the gunfight in season two and hasn't killed anyone in the series. Intellectually he seems to understand that its necessary considering comments that he's made but he doesn't seem to have the killer instinct necessary in moments like this. At least he didn't, this experience might change things.

I have to agree here. I'd like to think if I were in Glenn's place I would have shot Merle, but I just can't be sure. All it took was a second of hesitation.

But. He's also been in a horrific zombie Apocolypse for a year. If youre not a bit desensitized by that, youre a better person than most.

Honestly, I'm not gonna get all up in Glenn's case, or his head, about it because of one thing: We don't really know (or I just can't remember) what Glenn and Merle's deal was prior to running into Rick in ATL. For all we know he and Merle were zombie battle buddies or something. All we know about it is, at the time, Merle was a ginormous dickface and got locked on the roof.

Two things I took away from tonight's episode.

One, all the pain and shame could have been avoided if Glenn shot Merle.

Two, Michonne...can't be trusted. She is far too lone wolf. She does not open up and talk when she should. She hangs back when she should step up. You don't know what's going on in her head.

True story about Michonne. I'm half expecting a musical interlude or a YouTube video about her featuring the Ben Folds song "The Bitch Went Nuts" where she slaughters the entire Ricktatorship.

Also, the token quota is +1 among Rick's crew. I'm guessing T-Dogg 2.0 doesn't make it. Or Andrea kills Michonne. Or mutually assured destruction. :awesome

Also also: Fuck the Governor. That is all.

EDIT: Sweet Jeebus BeastMode!Glenn with that broken chair! Like woah.

Looks like Maggie is taking Michonnes place in the comic. Although a watered down version.

    First impressions of mid-season finale...

Andrea...fuck her. Whatever happens with her I really don't care.

Michonne...cut the bitch loose. Not a team player at all.

Pretty good gun battle in Woodbury. Firefights are not epic in real life when you're in one.

Carl has grown, manned up. Good for him. He knows how to deal with strangers.

And the Dixons are back together again.

    Can't wait for February.
