Except the cut was far too clean to be made by a Walker, and the ADHD guy was nowhere to be seen whilst she was being eaten - that and people keep talking about the Hunters from the comics, plus we know we're due to meet at least some new characters this season who have a life expectancy longer than one episode.

Not much to say regarding the Carol thing, it felt like Rick took her out there to either kill her or let her go before Tyreese found out and got his hands on her - the interesting bit will be seeing everyone's reactions assuming Rick doesn't tell them about what she did.

I wonder what Daryl will think? He's alwasy backed Rick, and knows something had to be done... but its Carol. he may go after her.

To me the plot is being driven towards Michonne and Daryl being partnered/coupled. I don't know how it resolves but I feel like it won't cause a schism.

Wow, great episode. I really enjoyed the Father-Son bonding this episode with Rick and Carl putting down that fence herd.

The drama with the sick people was really well done, I was freaking out man. I didn't think Hershel was going to make it for a good second there.

I really don't like that one girl though, the one that treats the Walkers like people. She was also playing with Glenn's vomit blood, I'm really not feeling that.

Edit: Also got to see animals eating walkers instead of the other way around. I think that's a first?

Fucking. Amazing. Episode. Like, goddamn, the two big action sequences playing simultaneously was beautiful, and I think it says something that they didn't kill someone off for added effect and it still works. Rick and Carl got some awesome bonding time (How cool was it when Carl threw him the magazine. FPS buddies!) and Maggie taking that risk to potentially forfeit Glenn's life for her father's was just neat. Speaking of Maggie, I am totally all for more scenes with Rick and Maggie interaction, too. Maggie's been givin' me Comic!Andrea vibes since last season and as much as it'd suck to lose Glenn sooner than expected, if things go towards Rick/Maggie I wouldn't complain!

But yeah. Scratch all my previous predictions out the window, what with the reveal at the end of the episode. We've known for a while there'd be two Governor-centric episodes coming up, but I thought/kinda hoped they'd save that and him for the back half of the season. Guess not. Ep 6 and Ep 7 will be those two Governor eps, followed by Ep 8 being him attacking the prison. There, new prediction-ing. This episode ended in a mirror of the first episode of this season enough to make me realise that yeah, they've basically tied up that story arc and they're gonna let The Governor have some fun before going balls out for the midseason finale.

EDIT: Totally forgot, Walker Kill Of The Week... individually, gotta go with Maggie managing to nail that walker without hitting Hershel or the trach bag, but really, Rick and Carl's balls-out massacre. With this moment.

Yeah I gotta agree with Wheezybaby, that little girl is creepy as hell and someone needs to have a talk with her. Rick and Carl mowing down the horde of walkers was great, but I think Hershel just became my favourite character.

Hershel was amazing in this episode, especially in that ending. I'm hoping this isn't another of the "we profiled a character so now they're going to die soon" kind of moments.

I don't get what the writers want to do with Rick, its like they can't let him just make up his mind about something. He decided to banish Carol because of his family not the group and he was all decided and shit and then he asks Maggie what she would have done and hilariously walks off saying that they can't afford to doubt themselves again.(what the hell).

Also his thing with Carl, Carl has already done some pretty messed up things, he's no longer the innocent child that needs to be protected from the world but Rick still seems to think that he is, just when it seemed they'd gotten past it.

I think there are many parallels between Rick and Carol except that Carol lost her only anchor to the world (Sophie) while Rick was brought back from his madness because of Carl.

It's kind of interesting to think about how important psychology plays a role in this show and how hours could be spent just following the mind trips these survivors are going through. I mean they finally reached a point of stability in the prison (walkers under relative control) and then the damn flu knocks everything back to "high alert, code red" status.

Woah, walker kill of the week goes to the governor in the walker pit. I can't decide between the trachea pull and the skull rip.

When he's not being crazy, the governor/Brian is a pretty swell guy.

Hell yeah that was Walker Kill Of The Week. The oxygen tank kill too, 'cause, I mean... damn, son.

Also, I know he's not the comic crazy version and everyone fan and their mother doesn't like that, but I kinda love watching this Governor. Don't get me wrong he has a death coming to him and it's gonna be satisfying (For Maggie, Milton and Andrea bitches. Merle too, I suppose, and Axel 'n Oscar), but at the same time, I like the swagger, the attitude, the wordplay. And in this ep, the sort-of dream-like quality of him floating around and then reluctantly becoming a bit more human by trying to forget everything that made him crazyballs last year... It's a pretty solid parallel to Rick's arc so far this season.

Not only that, but hell, I liked Lilly and Tara. The shoutouts to The Rise Of The Governor novel - which is pretty cool even if the prose itself is messy - were neat, but that they set up a chick named Lilly to not only be close to The Governor and then take his signature gun? Ahahaha yep, something's gonna go down and then she's gonna shoot him. Given the somewhat possible redemption vibes, if he dies for the prison group and then Lilly puts him down as a walker, it'd be like, doubly hilarious.

Next week's another Governor ep, and I wonder if this one's gonna basically build him back up to a motivation matching the comic's prison attack. Because last year The Governor was more about the showmanship, using speeches of "terrorists" and stuff and slyly keeping as many of his people safe in Woodbury as he can while going out and being a dick to outsiders and messing with the biters. He had no intention of taking the prison for himself, and didn't want to move the townspeople. But if he's out with a group of scavengers led by Martinez, and then he remembers that there's a safe prison nearby that they should be living in, and to hell with the people inside of it... The Governor's totally gonna bring Martinez's head back on a stick, tell everyone it was the prison who did it, and lead the charge to take the prison. For his new family. And also to get some revenge on Michonne and the ilk. Bam, cue the midseason finale.

So yeah, I'm pumped. And dreading the murderfest that's gonna go down, but hey.

Oh, and a spoiler for later in the season that might intrigue some:

That chick Tara we met tonight, the lesbian cop-in-training and Lilly's sister? She's contracted to recur throughout the season and maybe be a main character next year. And she's apparently been filming in the back half of the season... with Abraham's group. Dun dun dun.

Felt rather bad sitting there wondering every 5 minutes when the Governor was going to turn on the family and kill them all with the second gun he found in the room upstairs, though I suppose it was nice to see a shift away from his old character and back into a somewhat family-esque environment again.

Not too sure what to make of his old first man's group, hunters or survivors? Either way I think we'll see a shift back to the old Governor, though perhaps not the fully blown 'kill all humans' mentality, though I suppose it's up in the air having not read the comics.

Pumped as all get out for next week's fun time midseason finale goodness. Mostly for what the projection of the back half of the season is gonna be, and not for the pain of losing some faves. Okay a little for the pain.

Taking all bets, who's gonna ice The Governor? If it ain't Lilly or Tara, I'm putting my bet down on Beth. Chick's been waiting to go hardcore for a bit. Added bit of fun if she does it because it'd be a roundabout Andrea avenging; Andrea's advice back in S2 led Beth to deciding she wanted to live, and then Andrea gets ganked by Governor later down the track, so if Beth does the murderising it's because she's alive because of Andrea. Lulz.

The scene from next week was odd. It seemed like the Gov walks up to the fence and kindly asks them to leave?

I highly doubt his new crew will be comfortable going in and killing them all; he kind of has to offer them a way out.

Last time he had to weave weeks of lies and even then his crew was like fuck that; initiating a Governor break down and slaughter of his own people.
