35 minutes gameplay demo - and the ending of it, just confirms it'll be an awesome ride for the people that know the books. Can't wait for it

 

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Opening Cinematic - 24th February 2015. Why can't it be sooner!

 

It was entertaining, but I was expecting a bit more action in it. More Geralt, less Yennefer, to be clear.

Also, have they mentioned required specs yet for the game? I could run Witcher 2 fairly well on near max settings, provided I didn't use ubersampling.

 

Not yet and my computer can run Witcher 2 on max settings with the ubersampling. Technically it can, but than it turns into a slidshow and not a game

IMO only the opening cinematic from the first game was noteworthy. The second game had a very nice visuals but almost no substance.

 

Just came back from Steam,
Everyone is moaning about free DLC, saying it could easily be in the game.
I sometimes don't understand people, 16 free DLC, WTF is wrong with people?
Do they want paid DLC instead?

New trailer is new

 

Yennefer looks different from the other trailers. Did they change her looks or is it just the angle and fast pace of things that make me think she's changed in appearance? I'm talking about the face, just to clarify.

 

Previous screnshots had shitty resolution, so my money's on different angels and all that jazz.

The Witcher 3 is delayed to 19 May. On the one hand it's a better option than having a game full of bugs, but on the other the premiere was close enough for me to start getting excited about it and now it's three more months of waiting.

 

On one hand I'm pissed because I wanted to finaly play it during the most shitty months in Poland i.e. February and March.

On the other hand, three more months mean three more months of hype and the price of CDRed stocks going up, so I'm - tentatively - ok with this.

 

Well, I don't mind delays too much, because a delay means they want to avoid a Battlefield 3/Assassin's Creed Unity sort of release.

 

Ciri got confirmed as the second playable character - from the screenshot bellow we'll probably get some retrospective of Ciri training in Kaer Morhen.

 

She's a full-blown mage, so I guess that means she should have more than just the Signs to use in terms of magic. I wonder what other differences there might be between her and Geralt gameplay-wise. I remember she was trained as a Witcher with swords and such, but I don't think she actually went through the Trial of Herbs/the Grasses (whatever they translated it as -- "Herbs" sounds better), so she might not be able to use Witcher potions.

On a side-note, I started re-reading The Last Wish the other day. I also checked and saw that a few more of the books had been translated to English, so I should probably re-read The Blood of Elves and get those as well.

 

Yes and no. Ciri is so much more than a mage, yet at the same time she never really got the training she needed except bare bones that she got from Triss and Yennefer.

And Signs are - acording to in-universe mages - just parlor tricks. And Ciri had problems even with them.

 

There is more to it. Ciri made a conscious decision to stop using magic during her stay on the desert after the Tor Zireale or Tor Lara debacle - the one where she was transported from Thanned Island during the coup d'etat.

But yeah, she a bit of a game-breaker when it comes to power.

 

Tor Lara. It was supposed to lead to Tor Zirael, but Ciri got disturbed/spooked/somthing (I don't have the books on me to check it out) and landed on Korath. She wanted to help Horsie, tried to drain magic from fire and all went to shit. She got over the incident after finally venturing through Tor Zirael.

Game-breaker isn't the best word for it. Try:

System specs for the game.

What. The. Fuck? According to it, my computer that can run Witcher 2 withouth any problems, can't run Witcher 3 on the minimal settings.

 

This isn't even funny:/ As much as I love the Witcher books and games I'm not going to buy a new PC to play this game. At least not until a new TES or Fallout game will be released. (I'm not much of a gamer).

 

Hah. I don't meet the minimum specs because my Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz don't cut it.
