I'm leaning towards Ancient Mai. From all my experience, she was pretty zoned out most of the time. If not her, then I'd think Gatekeeper. Not sure why, but he seems too helpful and involved.

I think they need to bring back some things from earlier. Like Susan, with another plot. Or maybe Mort, but he's been used a bunch for a side character. Anyone up to rereading the first one for any unclosed plot events?

 

I agree with all the Ancient Mai speculation. After all, she's always behind the scenes, and you never see much of her. She was in, Indonesia I think?, when the trainee camp was attacked. Wouldn't be too hard to take a detour and organize an attack...

 

I thought the training camp was in New Mexico? How is it not that hard to make a detour from Indonesia? Its on the other side of the globe.

I kinda meant that since she was there alone, there would be no-one else to check if she was actually there/doing what she was actually supposed to be doing.

And uh, she doesn't have to be in New Mexico to leak information to the Red Court.

 

I've had like an hour of sleep for the entire past week, so I might just be crazy here, but...Are there not these new devices we call 'phones'? Or for wizards, there's always the never never. It wouldn't be that hard to leak info and get things going no matter where you're located.
