I can't find a "requests" subsection, so I place this here - can anybody recommend me a half-million+ word fic that they think is worth reading? (including sum total of series, whatever.)
I have a particular liking for greater-than-standard-novel-length fanfics, probably as in general the people with that much perseverance can, in fact, write. (Odd exceptions who merely THINK they can aside.) Unfortunately, there don't appear to be many around.

    Thanks in advance

The only ones I can think of are Lightning on the Wave's series, but they aren't really to the taste of your average DLPer.

Edit: Also, this isn't the right place; this stuff usually goes in the "Fanfiction Extras" section down the bottom, but never mind.

Buddy, there is no requests subsection. Until you've tried and looked through ever fic-finding resource that DLP has, you aren't supposed to ask for a fic reccomendation. Once you have exhausted DLP's findings, you can post a thread in FanFic Discussion.

Now...as to what you're looking for...can't you just go onto FFNet and sort fics by length? Seriously...

Mate. Just go through the library. If you dont find any use the restrict size option in FF.net. You do know that almost all HP fanfiction is hosted on FF.bet don't you?

Alright, I know this may come across as rude but I think it has to be said.

Now, we had a big scandel about posting requests a little while ago. The problem was that people (mostly newbs but some older I think) would ask for things like this without bothering to look themselves, and it pissed us off.

We are not your personal fic finders, do it yourself, if and only if you are unable to find it yourself then you can request. But I got the feeling it was only for a certain fic or genre that wasn't to popular, nothing so wide spread as what you asked for.

The problem here? I know for a fact that all you had to do was go to http://www.Fanfiction.net and adjust the filter at the top to get what you wanted.

And your plight could also have been solved by simple browsing the forums, we have an ass load of fics near or over half a million words in the library.

    !!!
I don't mean to Mini-Mod but after all the hub-bub the last time all he had to do was search fic requests or something simular to come upon this topic and the rules for it. In fact I think they're sticky'd in the Fanfic Extras but I may be wrong.

Edit: I just realized how my post came off, I edited it a bit to make it a little more user friendly.

Well Stal seems to have gotten a bit worked up but it's essentially nessecary. This is your first post. You haven't intorduced yourself. You just barged in and just asked for the fics. It's kinda good that Inky actually listed these things out.

You can ask us for recomendation but that too in the correct forum or in IRC.

Oh Stal I think you meant Self-Mod and not Mini-Mod. :p

Ouch. Ok, my bad. In my defense, I have searched around the site, and have also done the "search 100,000 plus" option on FFnet. (Only because it will go no higher.) My problem stemmed from the fact I have run out, having read the only twenty or so that I could locate - not many authors, it seems, have the patience or ability to write that volume of continuous well-thought out narrative.

In any case, my apologies for any irritation.
