The point is that never did the movie show that FGs want to kill all life everywhere. Hell, they're alive too.

But Portus is right. We're beating a long dead horse here.

Edit: If what CBH said is true, then I withdraw my judgment on Frost Giants.

Except for the beginning when it says the Frost Giants want to cause an ice age and kill all life that isn't them.

Maybe it's just me, but I was let down. The characterization of Thor was well done... but he did it in like 2 days. If he'd had a time skip and he was a homeless guy for a year or two, then okay. To go from super arrogant to level headed so fast makes no sense. I don't care about the rushed romance I'd fall over for Portman that fucking fast too if she was making those eyes at me!

The frost giant stuff was alright, but they should have invaded Earth or something, not the small bit they actually did, I didn't see them as a threat after watching how easy Odin and then Thor beat their asses. Loki could have been way, way better. His magic stuff they did use was awesome, but in the Thor fight scene they only had him do one impressive bit, which was surround him with doubles. Should have been much more epic. And Laufey, in Odin's room, he's supposed to be such a big deal, but Loki wtf owned him with zero effort.

Thor's warrior companions seemed like filler. They just didn't do anything with them that I gave two shits about. Alot of humor in the movie as well that I didn't expect, him getting tasered, and then drugged was epic. I loved the Donald Blake nod. Side note, the hammer looked retarded. Should have gone with the hammer/axe with the long handle. Leaving it on Loki's chest was a nice bit though.

Agreed. This has been needed so badly. In your normal Marvel films in the past each Hero has been contained, like they're the ONLY team that could save the world and it kind of hurts the movie for me. OH NO WE NEED SPIDERMAN! He's the ONLY one who could stop Doc Oct! No. The Xmen would cuntpunt his ass to the moon, same with Fantasic Four, etc, etc.

Now I said I wasn't impressed that much, and that's true. But given how fucked up Thor's backhistory and mythos is, I think they did the best they could. Asgaard looked amazing, Odin was epic, and the graphical detail was still way above average. I just felt the story could have been way better. I felt like it was essentially just a origin story with barely any fleshing out, to make us see Avengers.

This. I expected shit. I was surprised. Now I don't think this is as epic a movie as people make it out to be, but it's still a damned good movie. WAY better then I expected.

I finally got to see this last week... and my opinions pretty much mirror Midknights.

There was a fair amount of deviation from both Marvel and the actual Mythos, but they made it work. Loki certainly could have used a bit more notice on his powers as Thor got, but when I look at the fact that it's easy to show off martial prowess and a hulking hammer, then the ingenuity and cleverness that would be displayed by a master of magic such as Loki was to possess. I would have liked to see him shapeshift some... I mean... he's Loki. He's a god damn shapeshifter!

Odin was just... perfect. Anthony Hopkins gave a fucking fantastic performance as the All Father. The scene where he shows up in Jötunheimr in full regalia atop a horse (though it wasn't Sleipnir, unfortunantly)... just epic.

Otherwise, the movie felt far to fast paced.

All in all, an enjoyable flick.

What'chu talking about? That was Sleipnir. Go back and look, four legs show on the front when he arrives.

Well, I can't really go back and look at it without seeing the movie again, but I will be honest that I was a little distract by some other things. If it was Sleipnir, more epic for the moment.
