Yeah; as the titles go; I'm looking for a time-travel fic or fics. The particular one I want is not where old Harry travels back into young Harry; but rather goes back in time so that there are two Harry's running around. And just for shits and giggles; I'd like to read one where he actually intercepts Voldemort at Godric's Hallow. As far as this sorta fics go; I've seen a grand total of one abandoned fic.

 

Ibex is like that, but it's only kind of okay. And you never see little Harry, since he's a baby.

 

Time to Fix the Mistakes by DisobidienceWriter is also like that. I don't remember much about it but I don't think little Harry plays any role in it because he is still a baby.

 

There are quite a bit of stories around where Harry raises himself, but I haven't seen any that are worth mentioning.

 

It has always irked me the whole go back in time to change the future idea.

Especially when it was explained in canon that you can't do it, and yet people are writing fics where Harry rises himself as if anywhere in canon says - "and there is this dark looking but kind person who stopped the 'Harry hunt', or told the little boy about this secret world of magic before Hagrid came around kicking/pushing the door of the cottage down".

If change of the time was possible without making the whole universe collapse on itself, than I'd guess powerful people, like... hmm dunno maybe Dumbledore or Voldemort would have perhaps tried to avoid death or fix too many things at one time or the other.

And if anyone pushes front the rubbish of the "smartest witch" in her generation accomplishing something both Dumbledore or Voldemort couldn't do ... you're getting bitch slapped from me, so you can come back to your effing senses.

And please do not respond to this post with Joe's Wasteland fic because we're yet to see if anyone we'll be able to change the past there successfully at all...

edit: I remember a fic which was only one or two chapters in, and it started with an older Harry going back in time to the night of Halloween killing Voldemort and saving Lily. It had a feel of a promising WIP but I haven't read anything of it as of lately(so I presume it hasn't been updated) and for the life of me I can't remember the title... It's quite possibly that I've read it in the WBA thread in here but no time to search right now.

 

It's not the one the OP wants, but Master Slytherin's Ruin comes to mind as well as one where he goes back to the night Godric's Hollow is attacked and changes stuff.

@psihary: As has been discussed in many threads, it's only established in canon that Time Turners can't change the future. Nothing else is ruled out, though for real change, avoiding a paradox requires a separate reality. (For manageability of the world, such time travel probably has to have a steep price or be exceedingly rare).

 

I believe there is one called Harry Potter and the Second Chance and its been recently updated. It is also complete on ffnet, its pretty cool too.

 

Awe you beat me to it. I was going to suggest that one as well. Perhaps someday Master Slytherin will get around to actually updating it. I am writing an HP time travel story in the meantime. If you want I'll let you know when it's complete, as of right now its only about 5,000 (totally off topic). I still have to find a few more BETA for it before I can post it.

Hmm, aside from that, I can think of Alchemist Apprentice. It was fairly good. It should be in the HP archives.
