I'm townreading Ampharos, not as much as other people seem to be but a little. I liked her read on fonti for the most part, I don't think it's accurate at all but I like the way she made it, felt like she was trying to get into fonti's head in a real way. It felt maybe a little generic / buzzwordy but I'm not sure how much I want to read into her tone when I don't know her at all. What I liked even more though was her take on Jari in 146, it felt really off the cuff and nuanced in a generous sort of way that came across genuine to me. I think there's a world where she's mafia and good at faking those kind of mindset type reads and in that world her reads on fonti/Jari are probably her TMI bleeding through but I don't think there's anything hugely pointing towards that being the world we're in right now.

@Grapefruit my Umami read isn't a gutread, lol. It isn't even really a read, I just liked their posts. And it isn't a pledge, is just a way that my game has changed. It's not an unaligned read, no.

What is this then? It feels like an unaligned read. At least a hypothetical one that you haven't put much weight into because you don't believe in the world where it's relevant.

 

Oh, hm. Probably something like Reg/Vaimes/fonti/you/Cobalt? None of those reads are strong at all, though. I'm kind of hesitant on Reg because I don't think he's done anything that's remotely out of range for him so far and probably the main thing that I think is AI from him at this point is something I can potentially see him doing specifically to fake me out, especially since I think he's aware of the type things I look for from him and knows that I pull from past games a lot. He doesn't feel wooden though in the way he usually does as mafia which is good.

Vaimes seems relaxed and hasn't done anything super scummy so I feel ok with him for now, he's not really my biggest concern regardless given he's Vaimes. I could actually see myself lumping you just because I don't have a townread on you and I feel like I'm usually able to get at least the start of one at this point, but I don't actually dislike anything you've done so far so I don't know. I've liked a lot of your questions though and I think your Regfan read feels similar to last time you were town with him which feels like a good thing, so yeah I might put you before fonti actually.

fonti feels like herself. I don't really think I can say I actually townread her with a straight face with how little she's been around, but she has a lot going on right now so I might not have a solid read either way for a while and that's fine. I think I can get a correct read on her more than anyone else in the game. I'm kind of weirdly hoping she's mafia to be honest, even though I know she wouldn't be too happy about it. Cobalt I already talked about. I don't know what he is, somewhere in between a nullread and a scumread without really being either. I'd probably just be scumreading him if our past two games weren't a thing. I don't really trust myself to read him even at the best of times.

 

I, uh, kinda meant just ranking that particular action but that doesnt really seem to be how your brain works.

 

In the world where Ampharos is mafia and fonti/Jari are town, then she was able to get that kind of accurate/nuanced read on them because she had TMI that they were town. I don't think it spews them town, that would just be what's going on in those reads. They can easily be mafia together and she's defending her partner or partners, but most of the time I think they would just be town in that world. I wouldn't be able to get a real unaligned read from it without comparing it to her other reads and the rest of her content.
