Pretty sure this means you can't charge up on creeps to get higher crit chance on enemies.

Accounting for it doesn't mean it's nullified.

This is pretty damn close to explicitly saying it won't work.
Wait, the system actually does explicitly deny it, according to the first quote.
Taking a crit rune will give you 1% crit, but you cannot farm it or make it a guaranteed crit. It may win you an early trade, but it will be luck based, not because you timed your attacks properly.

The only way this will let you charge criticals is if you are able to consistently attack an enemy champion, and even then Xyph admits it is theoretical. Riot would not put something as stupidly exploitable as this in the game. They have similar things like Caitlyn's passive, but they would never have something like this that requires you to know about the crit system and then take one crit rune and do something that has no counterplay. That's a ridiculous burden of knowledge.

I've heard the arguments for the single crit rune on an AD carry thing before and I'm surprised it's still being put forward as a good idea. I can understand the reasoning behind it and anyone who's ever facechecked brush at level 1 to find Ashe waiting in it with her passive stacked up will agree that an early crit can win a fight, but the idea of 'charging' a crit in lane by last hitting just doesn't stand up to any kind of scrutiny.

It smells of confirmation bias and selective memory. You're forgetting all the times where absolutely nothing happens or the times where you crit a minion you were going to last hit anyway, but remembering the few times where the stars aligned and you got first blood after a lucky crit on a champion. You're not losing a whole lot by gambling a single rune on that lucky crit, but that's exactly what it is - gambling.

Now, taking a single crit rune in the jungle? That has a little more merit. When last hitting in lane, scoring a crit on a creep is a complete waste. When clearing the jungle you're auto attacking constantly (unless you're Fiddlesticks), which gives you more chances to score a crit and a chance that it won't be wasted on a creep that would've died anyway. You're also tanking creeps in the jungle, which means getting a crit can save you from taking damage. If you're lucky enough to get that crit against one of the harder hitting creeps in the jungle, you'll be left in a healthier position at the end of your clear for ganking.

I do agree with Churchy that there is no real way to "predict" when the crit will occur. Such a system will be broken, and just retarded. However, I can see the reasoning behind running one crit rune. After all, 1 ad isn't the biggest loss in the world, but a crit in a fight could be the difference between a won one and a lost one.

Nevertheless, consistency still applies. For example, what happens when you crit on a minion and never land a single crit on the champion? I think it's just a rune that doesn't change gameplay often, but sometimes lead to a fun result. That's it.

The jungling might make sense, especially since you are autoattacking. But Riot's PRNG works the same way as RNG in more or less every situation. Xyph explicitly states crit farming won't work, then implies heavily that the crit ramp up will only works if you are attacking one target consistently. If you are clearing dragon, baron, or early game jungle buff monsters, the crit might ramp up.

But I'm 99% sure that it doesn't work in any way like Prom says. Like ElDee states, it's confirmation bias and you're treating it like a gambler treats roulette. Target selection makes each new hit a new roll, and regardless of how many non-crits or blacks you got before, it isn't going to increase your chance to crit or odds to get red.

And 1% crit will not ramp up anywhere near 90% after 10 hits. 10% crit might get there, but the ramp up time is extremely subtle, once again taken from xypherous' post.

I forgot to mention this earlier. People still having trouble recognizing tower range should learn this. A series of flowers, mushrooms, and torches act as a visual cue to its attack range.

There are also simple ways to see your 'buy range' at the shop that doesn't involve you pressing the shop or 'P' hoping to see the buy icon light up.

The gold bag shop icon next to your items will glow and blink when you are in range. It will dull when you are out of range.

There is also a visual cue.

As you can see, Blue side or Bot has a bigger buy radius. This is intentional. Summoner's Rift is not 100% balanced. Blue side is generally considered to have better advantages with better dragon control and the like. To make up for this, higher Elo players during matchmaking will be placed on Purple side or Top.

Purple has a few advantages of its own. Purple obviously has better Baron control and has a gank advantage in mid lane. The way that works is simple. Blue has a blind spot in their Wraiths camp due to the mini-map position. That is why that area is often heavily warded early and mid-game by Blue during high Elo matches. You can see how devastating that blind spot is with this video right here.

That's why this thread exists doesn't i? To point out tips and tricks to help you improve? I didn't know the ward thing until a few months ago, and even then I still struggle to put it into practice now. Half the time I fuck up and end up warding up on the ledge instead of down below the river when I play support or top.

This is Why You Play the Meta

Meh. I'll remove the crit thing then since so many people are against it.

I get drastic power boosts from it. Just ask Lamora and ChaosGuy about the BS I get with it in laning as Vayne orr really any of the other times I play AD carry with really anyone from DLP. Those crits hurt and I can usually get a few off at bot lane vs enemy champs.

You do not get drastic power boosts from it, you get confirmation bias from it.
The source you cited for the information is saying the exact opposite of what you are.

edit: Essentially, you heard that it worked this way through someone that read what Xyph said poorly or read it and misunderstood it yourself. So you started running 1% crit thinking that you were charging it up. Every time you didnt get a crit after charging you assumed you didn't charge enough or ignored it entirely. Every time you did get a crit, which was probably 1% of the time, you assumed it happened because you farmed it up. If you had never heard about the crit winding up and had 1% crit runes, then whenever you crit you would just assume (correctly) you got lucky and that would be that.

On Kat w cooldown starts once you activate it, not when you use w+q/e. On urgot having 4% cdr lvl 2 means 1e=3q(not sure if still accurate, remember reading it on solomid long time ago). Sivir w and vayne q resets auto, allowing for ridiculous dps. As ad carry, you want to attack move in fights, and "shutterstep", going between normal click on ground and attack move for max dps. Hopefully somebody can explain shuttersteping a little bit better.

    It's "stutterstep"

Stutterstepping is when you move and weave attacks between movements.
If you stand still and autoattack an enemy that is running away, your character will shoot once. At 1.0 attack speed (1 attack per second) you attack in the first quarter second and spend the next 3/4 of a second standing there waiting for your next autoattack. If the character moves out of your range, your character will not move until your autoattack timer is up again. At that point, your character will attempt to attack and upon realizing it is out of range, begin to move into range.

Stutterstepping is something you can do in RTS and MOBA games where you order the unit to move as soon as it autoattacks, allowing you to get in more attacks than you would by just right clicking an enemy. If there are no minions around, the easiest way to stutterstep is to alternate right clicking with attack-moving (A+click in LoL). This will make you move towards your cursor, then autoattack any enemies in range. If there are minions, you need to manually click the character then click in the direction you want to move. If you are running away from someone and attacking while minions are nearby, it is a bit more difficult.

This might sound useless and/or boring, but I can honestly tell you that it isn't. While this is a Starcraft example, it's still valid. There's a reason why the Terran Marine is arguably the most useful unit in the game, after workers. That stutterstep is amazing when properly microed, and I assume it's the same in League.

Also, the Marine is quite literally the only tier 1 unit that you have immediate access to across all 3 races that can attack anything it has sight of. That in and of itself is OP.

As far as tips for League, this one should be blatantly obvious but I cannot tell you how many times I see it happen or I do it myself. When using a skillshot, lead your target.

Let's say you're playing Lux and you're coming in through the river from mid. A guy from blue team is running away from your turret because he just got messed up in a team fight and you're moving in to clean up. You intercept him halfway between turrets, and you throw your Q to lock him down and mop him up.

If you had thrown your Q in a straight line at where he was, you'd have missed. If you had led him with it, you probably would have hit him because most players aren't intelligent enough to stop running when they see something like that coming in ahead of them and they get caught.

(By the way, if it wasn't clear, this is a general tip for skillshots.)

    Flowers=Visual Cue
Visual Cue = The "Shop Range"
The Shop Range= How far you can be away from base and still be able to buy your items

    Alternatively

    Flowers=Visual cue
    Visual Cue= Turret Range
Turret Range = How near you can be to the turret without taking aggro, assuming there's no minions around.

Look for the flower ring around turrets, they'll make a rough circle around the turret which completely outlines the towers firing range. If your outside the ring a tower cant hit you, if your inside with no minions nearby it can hit you.
