well we all know that in a good fanfic harry hates the Ministry.
we all know that Auror work for the Ministry.
question is do you think he will work torwards being an Auror or get another job.

I dont think he will be Auror more of in a independent fic a wand maker
a dark fic most likely a wanderer or a merch for hire.

When he said Auror in book 5, I swear I vomited alittle. Choosing to be a person that enforces the laws of a corrupt government is utterly stupid. I assumed JKR wrote that to entrench Harry firmly on the light side.

Canon would be so much better if he went fully dark, but "Good" Harry is too marketable to ever go dark =(.

 

yea i know its said that sad that people are so strung up on morals and goodness and not a code that they forge by themselfs

 

I'm personally inclined to believe that he's going to die by the end of the series, probably in a last-ditch sacrifice to destroy Voldemort once and for all, and will thus have no job at all. Disregarding that, I think that he's probably rich enough that he doesn't have to work if he doesn't want to, and will become even more so if Sirius left him anything in his will. But no, I certainly don't believe that Harry would ever work for the decadent Ministry.

 

He won't be an Auror, if anything he might be an Unspeakable as they have no ties to the ministry but other than that I can see him either being a DADA teacher or a Quidditch player, tho he should just take a sabatticial from the wizarding world

 

Yeah that's a problem I have with almost all of the Harry stories where he has a job. He's supposedly from a rich old family, The Potters, and is evidentally tich enough to have a trust fund for 7 years of boarding school, why in the blue hell would he WORK if he didn't have to?

 

that argument holds up until you consider the following.

He's rich, he'd never be bored, constant woman, go anywhere, do anything, etc.


I've known alot of rich people when we lived in NY, and the only one's who say they're working to prove themselves, are the ones who usually can't afford to live extravagant =)

While the ones who were truly rich, went yatching with a bunch of cute girls who liked to drink, ya know

 

this is why he should be a wanderer and see the world because if he has money he dosent have to worry and if he doesnt have money then he still doesnt have to worry

 

I hear that. As soon as i finish school thats what I'm doing lol. Wand crafting sounds interesting. But if it was me, crazy girls, crazy parties and crazy alcohol.

 

I'd say judging bikini competitions would work for him.

What does everyone else think of Harry doing drugs? he is a teenager after all and at boarding school and I wouldn't put it past Gred or Forge to twist the droe if you know what I mean....Just a thought.
