We finally have an update! The new chapter isn’t bad but it's not as good as the ones Padfootjr wrote. The author's note at the bottom is a concern though, it sounds like they're going to skip all the good bits and go straight to when Harry returns to his world and then he's going to take some of the fools back with him after he's killed Voldemort. I hope it doesn't work out like that as it will ruin a very good story.

 

REWRITE: Yeah, I had problems with the plan to move it forward to the time of the Belgariad as well. I was looking forward to this chapter for ages. I really liked the idea that Padfoot had of going through the millenia between Harry's arrival on that planet and the conflict with Torak depicted in the Belgariad. One of the major drawing point was the history of the world and how Behaldor influences it.

I Hope to all that is holy that the author does not go their usual route of the stupid 'villian who thinks they are good' Dumbledore that appears in both of their other works.

Fuck, I'm drunk and my reviews make more sense and have less errors, Belgarion213. Anyways, this story got a 3/5 from me for originality and not much else.

Pffft. I'm not even considering the rewrite what it is.

For me, this story will remain forever abandoned, unless padfootjr starts kicking again.

 

Yeah, what would be the point if the new author skipped the parts that make it a 'new' story? If they skip the 3+ thousand years that he is there, it is just going to seem like a 'Harry goes training somewhere and comes back uber powerful' fic. I'm not so big on the idea of other people from the Harry 'verse coming over either...

Apparently, according to this new chapter, Hedwig won't be changeing shape at all (I don't know who's idea it was though, so if Padfoot takes control back, that might change.)

Here's hoping Padfoot feels like writing again.

But anyway, when i come back to read the fic from the beginning again, i can't seem to. Damn it, i want to but i get bored of it for some reason and then i just do something else.

I really want to read the new chapters but i won't unless i read from the beginning again.

 

That would be because, by and large, the two story-lines don't mix too well. Some crossovers are emminently possible and actually readable. This isn't one of them. Eddings made a kick ass world when he created the Belgariad but the types of magic are almost completely incompatible. Besides which, this story bores the shit out of me anyways.
