I've just finished reading the book. It is... :)awesome)^:awesome. I loved it.

    WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS

Ha! I know you'd highlight this spoiler, despite not having read the book! Bloody curiosity! Nah, seriously, it's major spoilers which will ruin the book if you haven't read it.

I usually don't like Perrin much, and more particularly Faile which is IMO complete fail (haha) and ruins him. Fucking little bitch, I hope a she dies in the Dark One's fire. Anyway, I usually don't like him - but in this book, he's awesome. He's finally got some balls.

My favorite part was the Chapters 36, 37 and 38 - one of the best and longest action scenes in the books, as far as I recall. It puts Inception to shame! It's a battle within a battle within a fucking battle.

Perrin fighting Slayer in the dreamspike while the Aes Sedai fight the Black Ajah and a Forsaken in the Tel'aran'riod while Gawyn fights bloodknives and defends Egwen.

I think this was the climax of the book - the last few chapters with the Tower of Ghenjei were nice but Mat loosing an eye ruined the character for me. I LOVED HIM BUT YOU BASTARDS TOOK HIM AN EYE!! FUCK YOU BRANDON. It was too short too. Birgitte spent two damn months, and failed. And what... it took Mat only a couple of hours - a day at most.

Rand Al'thor was fucking great - despite the fact that we don't see much of him in the book. He was like fucking Jesus, only thousands times better. He made apples grow just by his awesome presence. He made the storm go away, the food become normal.

It's like... Rand was at least partially the Creator to have such a power to counter the Dark One's touch. Hear me, THE DRAGON REBORN IS THE CREATOR!

Mat Cauthon was great. I loved those interactions, particularly when he writes the letter to Elayne. It was hilarious.

All in all, great book. I can't wait for the last part - even though I'm worried about how Rand will deal with the Seancheans, or if he will deal with them at all, much like what Aviendha has seen.

I'm just surprised you read it so fast. I mean, yeah, I could do the same but I hate reading good books really fast. It just depresses me when I get to the end. I blow through a few chapters and force myself to stop for a few hours.

This book will take me a good month to read.

    Hopefully.

I'm reading slowly books that I enjoy - I spent two days and a half reading the book, and by that, I mean except going to lectures for my studies, the rest of my time was spent reading non stop, like 10-12 hours a day.

Generally, once I begin reading a book, I can't stop until I've finished. I simply couldn't read a book over the span of a month or even more. Imagine that by the time you finished a book, you forgot the beginning? o_O

If I really like a book, or its one of the last in a series that I would really prefer wasn't ending, I'll slow down.

That also occurs if I'm reading it as the same time as a friend, who can't read as quickly. In any other circumstances, and fiction book I get will be done in two-three hours.

:awesome I'm with you on this. I can't abandon a book mid-read, no matter what. IT DEMANDS TO BE READ.

Okay, first thing's first: The kindle edition doesn't come out till February. That is... annoying. But I bit the bullet and went to get the hardback from my local store.

Just finished it. It was good, but it was definitly just a prelude to book fourteen. Nothing happened that hasn't been predicted for years. The main purpose of this one seems to have been to set the table for the finale, and it really did an excellent job of that.

Though Sanderson still hasn't revealed who klilled Asmodean in book 5. I half expect him to leave that unanswered until the very end of the last book, and it'll just tell you who did it in a footnote.

Why? Why would they do this? :(

I guess it has something to do with the ebook costing $12 and the hardcover costing $32.

Just finished the book and cannot sleep at night. The Prophecies of the Shadow at the end of the book creep me the fuck out. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight.

First thoughts upon finishing it? Well worth the money. Brandon Sanderson has performed a miracle: I actually care about Perrin again. Still, nothing could make me care a bit more about Elayne. Needed more Jesus!Rand. Yes, dear god, it needed more Rand. His were the best parts, and often the shortest. MOAR RAND!

I caved in and bought the book. Normally $35 (aud) at borders but saw they had it on sale for $22. Normally i would have waited for the ebook to save on the dosh but damn I had to buy it.

Finished it in one sitting, I cant walk my neck feel's like its going to break and I think i have a fever now. But damn it was worth it.

    Random thoughts:

Did Moirranes rescue seem kinda.. I dunno.. rushed? Like it happened so quick. It was over in such a tiny fraction of the book, like an after thought.

Also..Aviendha's visions of the future? They better not come true, that would ruin me. I would cry like a bitch. That shit's just too brutal.

Jesus Rand was incredible, which makes me weary about the whole bowing to the Seanchan thing.

Well, yeah, it was a bit rushed. Like I said in my little review earlier (up in this page) it took Birgitte two months and she failed. Mat did all that in like... one day, more or less.

And Mat loosing an eye was a terrible blow to me - I loved him. If I were gay I'd totally hit him but now he lost an eye and is ugly.

Or maybe with a pirate eye patch he could still be cool. Dunno.

Guize, stop whining about Mat losing an eye. If the parallels to Odin weren't already obvious by now, there's something fucking wrong with you.

    Awesomeness.

I liked Nynaeve actually failing the test (though she passed via vote). Can't stand that character.

And didn't anybody else feel that how Mesaana kicked it felt sort of...cheap? I was expecting something more drawn out. Not the setup(which was awesome) but the actual face-to-face confrontation.
