Over the summer, I am talking an online spanish course, and they require speaking assignments. So I purchased a microphone to use with my laptop (lenovo ideapad 100s running windows 10), but when I plug it into the laptop and go to the recording devices area of the sound menu where the microphone (an "Insignia - On-Ear Analog Mono Headset") should be displayed, it's not there, I have looked online, and haven't been able to find any solutions. my driver is up to date, and all the fixes don't work. So I was wondering if anyone here could help.

Did you actually test if it works? With Audacity, Teamspeak or whatever? Because since it's not a USB mic with its own soundcard, it actually won't be shown in Windows - you'll just see the mic of your soundcard under recording devices, like here, but it'll say that there's a mic connected unlike the picture.

It didn't work for whatever reason, so I bought a USB mic, and that seems to work fine, but thanks for trying to help.
