This fic highlighted itself on my daily Naruto/Mikoto search and stands out as an excellent light humor piece. It has potential enough to have me on the edge of my seat provided this doesn't turn into a 'Naruto trains a team' fic and thereby diving into the OCs.

The fact that its got well written (albeit perhaps technically non-existent) Naruto/Mikoto and the Naruto/Anko boasting to Kakashi grant this a 5/5 rating but I'm still wary of its potential to take a nosedive at this stage.

 

I'm wouldn't if you never mentioned it at all. Everyone here has read about the training that made some Naruto super. Like you said, a lot of things are better off not detailed. Somethings are better off not mentioned. The past is boring.

Woot now the plot is going somewhere and poor team 7 getting corrupting by Naruto. 4/5 for now

 

This update was a pretty big letdown, mainly because it had none of what was promised:

I was also hoping to see some sort of talk between Naruto and Sasuke about Itachi, but instead Sasuke just seems to have gone back to normal.

 

Just how strong is Naruto?
I don't care why he is that strong, but he seems to have mastered so many insanely powerful things, that who can even beat him in combat?

 

Kage level ninja who have mastered equally powerful combat techniques.

I was going to add Naruto fighting in this chapter, but I figured it had run on long enough.

Sasuke is, for the most part, ignoring Naruto. I just don't see him confronting anyone. So Naruto knew Itachi, what about it? Many other people knew him too (in canon), but you never see Sasuke confronting anyone about him to get information.

It certainly hasn't endeared the Uchiha to him though.

 

I like this fic but its getting harder to keep reading when he keeps showing 80% someone else and 20% Naruto, isn't that Kishi's job?

 

I would prefer if Naruto was either perverted or wasn't. It's a little weak that he just acts perverted, but really isn't? What's the point of it really? Why would you go out of your way to act like someone that you're really not? It doesn't really have anything to do with being a ninja. I just don't get it.

 

Why does it have to be so black and white? Why can't someone be a pervert, but still be shy around girls?

The idea that every facet of Naruto's personality has to revolve around him being a ninja is absurd too. You think he's pretending to think Mikoto is hot?

No, he isn't.

Does it mean he's lying when he says he keeps pictures of his friend (which is what Mikoto is to him) in his pocket for jacking off purposes?

Probably, but that doesn't make him a saint though either.

 

The one true fact, Sasuke's mother is bound by the laws of the universe and as such Mikoto is HOT.

Does no one here have female friends you muck around with and with whom you have your own little rules of conduct. A relationship is only partially defined by how it is perceived from the outside the most important aspects are those understood only by the participants.

That sounded way too... umm... clever for me so scrap that, let's keep things simple I just want more Naruto/Mikoto perverseness.

 

I want to read about some serious plot or Team 7, and Naruto kicking ass. I just cannot bring myself to care about the lesbian ramen operator. I would rather just read an ecchi manga (which I actually DO when I'm feeling like it) if I'm looking for fanservice.

Another way of looking at this misuse of story is if it breaks up the plot too much. Imagine if Voldemort had a pet cat, and there were chapters in HP dealing with how Voldemort played with his cat. I'm using this example because a lot of anime/manga wastes time with "redeeming characterization of an evil character" or "perverted yet shy mentor", and you see through it and are like, "fuck don't waste my time with this filler." What's the point of Naruto's perverted yet shy characterization? Is it thematic that heroes are perverted yet shy? It is kind of overused in anime. Even if that's your intention, why does it take up an exhausting amount of space?

I'm telling you this because you have way more interesting things going for you in this story, and I think you should focus on those instead of diluting the plot. I'm not suggesting you scrap, but continuing in this vein is tiresome.
