yeh I got that one as well but unlike you i actually have 2 one-shots which really should be taken down (they're filled with cliches). I think that this person is just using this forum to advertise their website.

The fact that the person used the memberlist to spam has resulted in a ban. I've asked several of my friends who have accounts here to check, and they've also gotten Pms from this guy.

Spamming our roster is a no no! You all are free to lynch him.

 

Should I be happy or shamed that this guy didn't invite me? Not that I would have gone had he invited me. Spam mailing me would not get me to join anything, in fact it's more likely to make me ignore the person/website that sent it in the first place.

Actually - now that I think about it - this seems familiar. I've received countless posts via Yahoo! Groups promoting an English/German Harry Potter fanfiction site. It seems this guy has a thing for sending spam often, so often in fact that sometimes I have more than one message in my inbox from him.

Furthermore (on an assumption that the person that sent those emails will read this thread at some point);

If you're going to market your site to English speaking people make sure you have a grasp of the English language. A Klick is 'a metric unit of length equal to 1000 meters (or 0.621371 miles)' and not something you do with a mouse.

I know this might read as a flame but that's not what it is meant to be. My point is that a site marketed toward English speaking people should at least use proper English on the main page of it's site, and that they shouldn't use spam mail as a means to get people there in the first place.

 

His site is full of slash and other crap, so that's just a turn-off right there, even if i did have a story.
