The announcement has aided sales, yep. We had (expectantly) slowed to 2-4 sales a day in the last week or so. However, since the announcement went up, it's jumped back to 10 or so in a day.

Enough to see the quick rise in the ranks. But the higher it goes the harder it is to breakthrough. One of my novels reached #4 in the rankings last week, and was selling 100's a day, but couldn't breach the top three.

    Orders of magnitude.

Still, any sale is a good sale, and 10 in a day is $20 in the coffers.

Many props to all the new buyers brought in by the announcement, and to amend the request for more reviews we authors keep dropping none-too-subtly (REVIEWREVIEWREVIEW), I was wondering if we could get a bit more specific in them, to let the authors know if their story was one of the ones that made the book worth it, or if they'd need improvement for the next one. If you know they also do fics and you've read them, do you think that they transition to original work well? I know it's probably a weird request, but it could help motivate improvement for future anthologies or original works in general. Not only that, but you can see on Amazon that the review that's considered the most helpful is Cheddar's review, where she specifically calls out stories to showcase the range of the anthology, and, so, yeah.

Like, no need to dissect every story, and you could even just post here in this thread which were the standout entries. Just thought it'd be neat. But even if you don't, just buying it, reading it and enjoying it is more than enough, so cheers!

I bought it twice...by accident, actually, but a worthy accident.

This is why they invented public libraries.

Just bought a copy, most likely won't get around to reading it until Monday because of upcoming exams but wanted to say congratulations to everyone who contributed and that I hope to see many more.

Will it be coming out for Kobo? And congratulations, it looks pretty good from what I've seen so far.

Just as porn has given me a false notion of how quickly the plumber would come to my door, so has writing fanfiction given me the false notion of how quickly reviews will come to my work.

Two more reviews - cheers to whoever did so! Better to get a general "all are good stories" review than continued silence, so I'll take what we can get.

Definitely going to buy this as soon as I can, but one question: epub version? :D

I'd buy two copies if there's an epub version available.

If patience is a virtue, I think we're all going to be saints before much longer. Reviews please and thank you kindly?

Heh. Welcome to the world of original fiction. It's a cold and lonely place.

I'm working on a few blogs and what not to review the anthology, but some of them are booked up for months and months.

That said, if any of the DLP crowd have read this bad boy, and feel open to spending some time writing reviews, I sure would appreciate it.

How're sales averaging out lately, Joe?

I see we've gotten a little more feedback at Goodreads if nothing else.

I know it's a bit of a necro, but seeing as this was my first time back to the site in several months, I happened to see the announcement at the top. Just ordered my paperback copy from Createspace, can't wait to get it! I'll be sure to leave a review once I do.

Ladies and gentleman, we have just received our first bad review.

    Opinions?

Cool. We were overdue for one of those.

Don't think too long on it, folks. I've been getting reviews for over a decade on my writing. Good, bad, and ugly. Best to adapt and move on.

Although I will update the file to fix the noted error.

On another note, a separate review on Goodreads. A bit of a mixed bag there, but nowhere as bitter tasting as the Amazon one.

    Okay.

Hopefully the criticism is helpful to you guys :D Most of it sounded reasonable.
