As Gambit said, it really, really isn't.

I found that the attempt to create what professional Quidditch is really like interesting since very few fanfics have explored this area. However, I was having difficulty believing that anybody would be willing to let themselves be beaten as badly as Harry was through in the trial, and any professional would stand by and allow that to happen to someone who is, in this universe, effectively jumping from pee wee league to world class just to prove a point. Even wizards aren't that suicidal. Daphne in one of her few non-flirting moments actually said as much, thankfully.

I haven't begun to like this Harry much either. From what I remember (as this was about a month ago now; haven't read chapter six yet), he's a jock. Very cocky and self-assured, acting on his hormones. Not Harry-esque in many, many ways. It's an AU and he's stated as OOC on the box, and he is.

While it's entirely valid to create a different Harry in an AU, in my mind you should want it for plot reasons. Otherwise, you might as well have had an OC. To this stage, I haven't found what the reason was to turn Harry into who he is from a plot perspective (that's another fault that has been covered in the story topic, the lack of much plot). Neville, too. I've always had this trouble with AUs though. It takes me awhile to warm to canon characters who are mostly unrecognisable from themselves.

But I'm still interested to see more of this Quidditch world. So I'll keep an eye on it and hope that changing Harry this way is for a better purpose, more of a plot emerges, and Harry doesn't just get beaten by Bludgers, Chasers or opposing Seekers to near death in every other match.
