I know you weren't responding to me, but, you did mention something of interest to me.

You said that there is probably a spell that does that thing which I was talking about, but it probably just creates a barrier in between the object and caster and then theres no evidence to prove so. That's what I'm saying, J.K should have done so. Expanded upon the idea of shields. That was my main point.

And besides, magical shields, like Taure once said on his documents (Yes I actually read that), are supposed to protect against anything harmful for as long as they can, as magic is also about the intent and the will to do something.

But you saying that people should just buy Dragon-hide jacket isn't really that probable. Only moderately rich to rich people have access to dragon-hide in that much quantity. At the beginning of the Fifth Year, George and Fred were wearing dragon-hide jackets.

That was surprising, since the Weasley Family, though it was a pureblood one, was not rich at all, the family barely surviving on the money Arthur got. Them wearing dragon-hide jackets was a hint of the growing shop they had set up.

Now if this doesn't explain it, I don't think anything will.

Whether you think the Wizarding population of Britain is 3000 or 10000, it is far too small for there to be a whole twelve dwarfs running around, all male and around the same age, willing to participate in Lockhart's crazy schemes. No, my good sir, I choose to believe that these are the gold-mining, beard-having, ale-drinking dwarfs of my dreams.

    (Edit: there's also this.)

If it makes you feel better I wrote dwarfs into my fanfic that I haven't posted yet. They had several scenes and their own culture. Mostly to do with eating rocks and shitting gemstones... or did I take that part out? I can't remember.
