I figured Daniel knows about Horcruxes, but Harry doesn't. It would explain why Daniel went after it and if they all really do think Harry isn't the boy-who-lived, there is no reason to ever tell him about the Horcruxes.

From the way it was written, to me it sounded like it was a memory of Voldemort contained in the ring, just like the diary. Only here, he was older because the ring was created later. Harry didn't have to win a duel, simply use his magic somehow to overpower the magic of the ring.

This relates to my answer to 2. I don't think Voldemort was there. I think it was just the the Diary. So unless he can feel the destruction of the ring he would have no way to know.

Well, yeah. You're right. Though I suppose him getting excited that she found something screwed with his head and he said something before he thought about it, but he should of done his best to just act interested in the fact that there was no information and tried to weasel her into looking for more just through academic curiosity. It would have fit him better.

Eh, the calculations he was assigned aren't as though he is trying to create a time turner that works better than the ones already around. So far, he can only get, what, like 2 hour time tuners? Assuming they don't make him mysteriously find all the components, and make a super-time turner it will be ok. I did shit like this in my theoretical science classes all the time. We were given the basic understanding of how to make equations for various devices that existed and asked how efficient we could make them. We rarely got anywhere close to where the real thing would be, but it was an exercise in mathematics. Knowing the equations behind things and being able to build something are pretty different. As long as the author is careful it shouldn't be a big deal.

Well, I agree with you here, but I think it is because Harry, the moron that he is, keeps doing it. Daniel believes he can get away with it because Harry for some stupid reason, keeps saving Daniel's ass and Daniel is just all around a crappy person.

I think that Daniel is just one of those people that take anything that you give them. Harry lets Daniel get away with lording his status over him, and Daniel isn't intellectually mature enough to realize that Harry could hand his ass to him on a silver platter if he wanted to, so Daniel keeps acting the hero.

I couldn't get past the whole 'oh well, life sucks' pansy! Harry! attitude long enough in order to enjoy this particular fic. There are to many little inconsistencies and to much pointless angst in here for me to give this story anything more than two stars. After you've read as much fanfiction as i have, you start getting picky; I've seen this plotline more than I care to admit and not necessarily in the Harry Potter genre either.

Luckily, I don't read any other fanfiction besides HP. Ignorance is bliss!

It was actually the promise of a good story to come that originally attracted me to this story. Not so much what actually happens, although I (as said many times before) find Harry's largely indifferent character very intruiging and well done.

<----- EDIT: w00t! Death Eater, baby!

I also rather enjoy the fact that Harry is mostly indiffrent to many things. Also so far so has harry not had some random adult that is the only one that care about him like many other similar stories have. That is a huge plus in my book...

I agree with Lord Apophis. I'm not a great fan of Harry/Hermione, but if it's done well, I can read it. I just hope for more action.

Skimmed through the first chapter and I actually like it. It's a breath of fresh air to the the standard cliche of "harry's twin brother being mistaken for the boy-who-lived"

EDIT: But now that i've read the whole thing, it gets a little depressing after the fourth chapter listening to Harry be such a pussy about things.

Oh, I've emailed the author and she assures me that Harry will show his true potential in due time (and kick some ass). They all will regret their actions and their ignorance... :)
Harry just needs some time to prepare a few things quietly.

I really like this story so far!

I rather liked the new chapter even if I think Harry is telling to many things to Hermione, even if it will be a Harry/Hermione story so was she ignoring him not to long ago and now does he tell her a lot of stuff and he accidently shows that he can do silent magic and then allows hermione to bully him into telling her why he knows it. He should have kept it to himself and instead pretend that it is among the very few spells he can do silently.

Other then that so is the story still great.

    Magical animagus alert!

    Whee-ooh! Whee-ooh!

Fuck...I really had hopes for this story. Two chapters ago, Harry was cool, indifferent, proactive and had some great moments. Last chapter, he was indifferent on the outside, but on the inside, he was in utter turmoil because he was on a date with Hermione. Understandable, seeing as it was still his first date. However, this chapter, Harry is worried about being late to lunch and upsetting Hermione, doesn't react coolly when Hermione acosts him about his silent casting and is now going to be a magical animagus.

I'm really hoping that this girl can pull back from the brink, because this was a pretty good story until now. It just seems that she's lost the touch that she originally had and is showing her true colors as a rabid fangirl.

    ...Pity.

I see she went back and edited chapter 8 to backfill the plot holes. Good for her. The magical animagus thing doesn't bug me so much, if she pulls it off well. There were no real 'woe is me' moments in this chapter. Other than him bitchng about not being the Potter heir and what not with his parents probably wishing he was a squib. I hope she begins to phase those out. It is well established in the story that Harry gets the short end of the stick. The reader doesn't need to be beaten over the head with that same stick every chapter.

Maybe his magical animage form is a flobberworm. Wouldn't that be a let down for him.

I wonder when Harry starts caching in all the life-debts Daniel owes him by now.

I didn't mind that Harry-Hermione moments as much in this chapter. Sure, it would have been nice to see a Harry say something like "we've been dating less than a month, when on earth did you think it would be appropriate for me to tell you all of my magical abilities..." but that type of attitude doesn't really fit this Harry. I think his response of making sure she doesn't find out about his other abilities much better. He still isn't telling her everything about himself and considering the skill is something that he is only a few months ahead of schedule from learning about, it isn't really that big of a deal.

As long as the magical animagus doesn't guve him amazing powers I'll save my opinion on it till we learn more.

I agree that the magical animagus thing is a downside, but you can't write a story without some clichés nowadays. As long as he isn't going to be super-powerful and doesn't let himself be dominated by Hermione, I'll continue reading this story.

I didn't dislike the chapter just because of the magical animagus, (which I only disliked because it has historically led to many, many bad stories) but because of the rapid change in Harry's thought process. At the start, he was indifferent to everything that even remotely affected him. Now, he's worried about what Hermione thinks and reacts way too much to Hermione's acosting him about silent casting. This isn't really a fault of the author at all, it's just drifting away from my comfort zone.

    Still recommended, though.

EDIT: Just got a review reply from the author, and she said that, and I quote, "Harry is so !not! a phoenix animagus..." :D

I agree with on the fact that on of the best parts is that the story skips straight to seventh year. All around I like the story.

    Can he?

Can you cash in on a life-debt if it's family? I mean in my family when you do some small favor we remember but if it's life threatening we get thank you's and hugs.

I figured if life-debts go by blood and can go down generations (Snape saving Harry's life in Canon) then Harry being as close to identical blood as Daniel couldn't use that against him.

I like this fic alot mainly for its.... well I can't actaully pin point why I like this story, perhaps it's the writing or the plot but for some reason I really like this story. I think it might be that Harry is so indifferent. Now i know most disagree here but it so much better him being indifferent them him whining about it, or him killing his parents or some bullshit emnacipation plotline.
Any this chapter was a bit ehh. I'm not a fan of the Harry/hermione thing and since this chapter was heavy H/hr i found it a bit hard to read. Although i did iike the whole breaking into Dumbledores office plotline, and i do wanna see where she takes it.

I was thinking ofa More Wizards Debt kind of thing. Harry can only collect from Danial, not Danials kid if he wants.

One of the reason I want to scream in this story is that Harry has make himself look nearly exactly like Danial to try and get the affection from his parents, and then is angry when Danial get the credit for saving the kids on the express...

That's true, it probably has something to do with lack of affection or some other Psycology reason but, as far as I'm concerned he jsut doesn't look at his mom as a mom. No! He's just a horny little bugger wit a hot mom.

And yeah a lot of the things he could probably cash in but if it's not a Life debt then doesn't Daniel have to agree to the Wizard's debt like "Thank you, thank you I don't know how I can repay you! It may not have been life threatening but I like to keep my limbs! I'll do anything to make it up!" like that. I don't know I'm just guessing here right now but, that could be the case.
