What the hell is with that 'twinkly-eyed' Dumbledore cliche anyway?

 

I read a oneshot fic (or just a post on a message board I can't remember) that came out shortly after HBP, that had Dumbledore's ghost show up, and Harry got everyone to help him banish Dumbles from this plane of reality, after telling them that it was Voldermort trying to trick them.

The funny part was he knew it was Dumbledore, he just didn't want to put up with his manipulation anymore. That was the best post HBP story I've read yet, I just wish I could remember where I found it.

 

Well with HBP out its gonna make independant or dark slytherin-ish harry stories like dissapear. I mean hbp makes it so authors of the previously listed have little to work with.
atleast im my searches for a new independant/dark/slytherin harry i havent really found anything i just hope that the ones already out keep updating.

 

That, is the most upsetting I've read in days. Mostly because it is true, unlike most things that upset me. ( :roll: )

With my inner eye however...

I forsee more trio independent fictions.. (that just sounds odd...) Like that story... HP and the Power of Three was it? *shrugs*

*sigh* I just wish people would write more AU fictions. There aren't enough of them.

There wasn't much to work with anyway, evil/dark!Harry is pretty OOC. AU is still an option, and it was always the best (most realistic) option. I like evil and dark Harry almost exclusively, but I can admit when people tried to work directly off OotP or even Goblet before it would become AU, the ways of turning him were often pretty unbelievable.

 

it is true that there was little to work with before but at least there was some to work with. HBP came and like smashed what there was to work with and now all we have left pretty much are AU's but then most independant dark slytherin harry stories become AU anyways.

but i mean with harry being "dumbledore's man" the harry ginny pairing it just destroyed the basis to more independant harry stories. I mean pretty much everyone of them has a manipulating dumbledore or harry going against dumbledore's wishes. But him being "dumbledore's man through and through" even after his death makes it so the only way he can be like "dumbles was manipulating me or i was just his weapon" or whatever would be hard to do without some AU element added in.

not saying a good independant/slytherin/dark harry story cant be done following HBP im just saying it will be fairly difficult not to mention the author would have to fix all of JKR's screw ups (long list here)

 

Actually Dark!Harry becomes now a wee bit more realistic, because he needs to find the Horcrux and when he goes alone he will need to study dark magic to get around the traps (if he doesn't use his love to disarm Voldemorts traps).

 

I don't think there is an author out there (except perhaps Giovanni), who writes a story about Harry Potter's wanking skills.

 

hey we never know it could be the power the dark lord knows not cause he could have cut off his dick for a ritual to gain power (dumb idea on his part)

 

No Harry will make Voldemort so sad that Tom becomes unable to cast magic (see Tonks in HBP).

then voldemort starts listening to emo music the rest of his life and is to sad at the fact that he can never have love.

thats what JKR will probably do.
