    The Raid.

Probably the best action movie of the year.

Went to see Chronicle just now. I thought it was pretty fun for what it was, but it wasn't exactly Grade-A material. There was some corny stuff, and I think it would have really benefited from an R-rating instead of PG-13. I'd give it a B for right now.

Trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Lincoln is my second favorite US president after Teddy Roosevelt, but unfortunately this movie will probably be more along the lines of Van Helsing than Bram Stoker's Dracula, which is a wasted potential in my opinion.

Above average for me, will definitely rewatch sooner or later...

Not bad. Wasn't a legendary film by all means, but rather fun.

Lucas somehow managed to make this a mediocre film. For something he heralded as the 7th Star Wars, in works for decades, etc... It's just an insult to the Tuskegee Airmen...

Denzel fucking carried this film like Atlas carried the Earth. He even brought out something good in Reynolds.

What is there to say? Yet another fun sequel to the Underworld series.

We took our kids to their favorite restaurant and then to see Journey 2 as a Valentines present. They *loved* it (I thought my son might piss himself when he found out we were going) but fuck me - it was one of the worst piece of shit movies I've ever seen, and I've watched Pearl Harbor and a bunch of Seagal shit-flicks.

Let me put it this way. Michael Caine - not only could he not salvage anything in this awful movie, he was actually out-acted by Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock. Thank GOD I didn't spring for the 3D showing...

That looked horrible. Horrible. The trailer might as well be begging you to not see it.

Underworld has been one of the worst film franchises ever. Maybe below the Resident Evil movies.

Got to agree, the first one was just passable as a standard slapdash vampire/werewolf action flick, filled with blood, gore and semigood cgi. Even had a surprisingly layered plot, but no way in hell did it deserve three- count them!- three fucking sequals. Nothing in this last film is rewarding- they couldn't even get that actor dude who played Michael to come back for a brief cameo. Full boar bad.

I enjoy all the Underworld movies. They're that kind of B-movie horror/action niche series that just doesn't exist in the modern day. I realize that not everyone likes them and that's fine, but I love the mythology and the action and the writing.

Then again, I'm a sucker for B-movie horror films and television shows. Tales from the Crypt, anyone? :sherlock:

No I agree... but only for the first one. The rest are too painful to even be considered B quality.

In any case, I just saw Safe House and can I ask, am I the only one that when I realized as a child I was not going to develop super powers I instead focused on becoming a spy? Safe House made me want to try again.

If you're talking just plot, I'd waffle on that (considering how many A-list blockbuster movies tend to have shitty plots), but yeah, overall Underworld at it's best wasn't exactly running on all engines...

I don't hate Underworld. If there is nothing else to do I can quite happily watch it on TV, maybe even enjoy it a little but I would NEVER consider watching it in a cinema. Fuck off paying a tenner for that.

There are simply too many eye roll moments, the plots are unoriginal and barely hold up to any scrutiny. The whole think seems to be an excuse to put Kate Bosworth in stretchy outfits, and have lots of "cool" fight scenes. Its essentially porn. Give 'em what they want with as little thought placed into it as possible- then whilst there distracted get the cash. It wouldn't bother me but as I watch that kind of film I can't help but think of some executive in an office grinning.

P.S.- You people are mad. As far as I am concerned the second Rise of the Dark Knight appeared on that list everything else ceased to exist. I am actually a little worried it won't live up to my expectations after the Dark Knight (which took me completely by surprise- and was therefore all the more awesome)

Back from seeing The Grey, good movie and Liam Neeson is still a great actor. Had its moments where you were definitely on the edge of your seat. Ending made the entire audience stand up and start screaming that that couldn't have been the end of it.

4/5 I'd say, definite recommendation but it had enough minor things detracting from it to really give it a 5.

Actually if you could judge from the trailer for a trailer that doesn't look half bad. I loved the original but a fresh take could be awesome with CF and JB and today's graphics. Looked like it took place on the set of "The 5th Element"

Trailer for Seth MacFarlane's film - Ted. I suppose it's a little NSFW.

Wasn't The Hobbit meant to come out this year?

It is - well, the first part, at least. 14th December, apparently.

IIRC, the first part will be released for 2012 Holiday Season.
