So I watched American Hustle and I expected a bit "more". Ether it was a miserable German synchro, always possible, or I am simply to dumb but a lot of those dialogues felt very strange to me. In fact many interactions between the characters felt a bit artificial. What did I miss? Why is this movie so great?

Man, I got bored after 15 minutes. I must be too dumb to appreciate this movie properly, or maybe it's because I know absolutely nothing about the mid 20th century and can't relate to it in any way. I saw Her after this and enjoyed it greatly. Not to mention I'd like an AI operating system voiced by Scarlett Johansson. DiCaprio was completely over the top in the The Wolf and I loved it. 12 years a slave tugged at me somewhere.

This thread is about 2014 movies, so as not to be completely off topic, I'm waiting for Marvel's marvels, trying to find time for Robocop and The Monument's Men and looking forward to Pompeii and X-Men. And yes, fucking Transformers too.

GoT is a TV series, but I'm waiting for that as well (DRAGUNZZZ). And Suits.

It isn't. The script was poor, the plot was all over the place (in fairness, that might be a problem caused by the actual events it's based on) and there was fuck all reason to care about the characters. If it wins awards for anything other than the 70's styling it'll be a travesty.

Yea, I watched it the other night and genuinely didn't enjoy it. Hustle had a few good moments that legitimately made me laugh, but other than that is was boring and confusing. I did like the ending though, that was pretty funny.

I think I'm ready to crown Dawn of the Planet of the Apes my soon-to-be favorite movie of 2014.

Trailer was cool, but I was hoping for the nuclear breath from Godzilla, at the end. But, even without that, this trailer pumped me up for this movie.

That's three kaiju already confirmed, with possibly more on the way, and a potential revelation that giant monsters are being dumped on our planet by extraterrestrial beings for reasons and motives unknown.

My hype levels cannot be contained.

So Jack Ryan, Shadow Recruit. An ok movie I think but so very full of bad cliches. I had hoped that we, or Hollywood, was over the whole bad Russian, Kreml led, mastermind hellbent on destroying all that is holy, which is the USA. Add to that a omnipotent CIA, a young, smart and patriotic man with a beautiful wive and the plot could fit seamlessly into any 90s spy thriller.
The strange thing is that, other than the idiotic patriotism, there is nothing that connects the movie with even the ideas behind the books. Because those at least had interesting, if sometimes far stretched, plot ideas and a realistic portrayal of the clandestine services (And a Russia that tried to be one of the good guys).

Hey so the Lego Movie is a thing. It's also very very good. The ending to that film comes so out of left field and yet makes so much sense.

Also Morgan Freeman as an old, insane dude was just genius.
