I saw Godzilla earlier and absolutely loved it. The human parts were meh but the monster fights were immense, really made me feel the scale of the destruction. The scene where Godzilla breathed fire for the first time was the first thing in ages that made me just sit there with my mouth open. It was by far the film I've most enjoyed watching this year.

Just got back from Godzilla and really enjoyed it. I have no substantial background knowledge of Godzilla, so I don't have the same type of gripes that Jibril has. It's a bit more difficult to be disappointed when your only expectation were to be entertained by giant monster fights. There were at least 2 scenes in this movie where we in the audience clapped. 4/5

Was wondering what would make this a 5/5 for me. I'm not sure...

Saw Godzilla today. The big guy definitely needed to be in it more, but that's my only gripe. Was delightfully ridiculous, and everything else a Godzilla movie needed to be.

Did anyone else catch the 'gojira' Easter egg? It was on the radar tracking screen when they were waiting for the three monsters to meet up for the first time.

I say easter egg because they call him Godzilla, still, i chuckled.

Didn't see that, but I caught the label on the insect tank in the ruined house. Said 'Mothra' in kid's handwriting.

I'm intrigued, but not sure if hyped. Not sure what is going to happen. I think they are keeping it intentionally vague.

First of all, every incarnation of Godzilla worth a damn has been fat, because it's literally a man in a suit. There aren't many options for slimming the profile down. The original Godzilla had 50% of it's mass in it's thighs.

Secondly, the movie was fantastic, and extremely faithful to both the classic portrayals of Godzilla and the traditional theme of the series (that being the monsters are metaphors for natural disasters). If the Japanese still aren't happy, they can get off their asses and make a new Godzilla film for themselves.

    Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Depending how you count it one more adaptation and Mark Millar will become the most popular comic writer in the Hollywood.

Spies, chavs, and Samuel L Jackson.

I never knew how much I wanted a combo like that to exist.

A new Tom Hardy flick, James Gandolfini as well. Looks pretty solid.

Anyone going to see X-Men today? I'm debating going to cinema on the weekend. I'm hearing they pulled it off.
