It was good, but not as good as people claimed imo. I guess it just didn't resonate with me like it did with others.

That Lava short though. As the Feels came through I nearly threw my popcorn at the screen in fury at the sneaky heart punch.

I won't ever be able to look at solitary mountains again

I certainly don't think it's the best thing they've ever done, as many people are toting it, but it's still a really really really good movie. This is my current Pixar scale from best to not best (I hesitate to say 'worst' because pretty much everything down through Bug's Life is great).

I think I may like Brave the most, of that list.

Watched 'Home'. Was kinda nice. Nothing earth shattering, but fun little movie.

Just got back from Terminator: Genisys. I'd expected a bit more, but it was okay.

Arnold really delivered and was thoroughly entertaining throughout. Emilia Clarke did well as Sarah Connor.

Matt smith was cast in a really tiny role and I have NO idea what they were thinking there. Fuck sake, you've got Matt Smith and you've got really retarded time-travel bullshit to throw at the audience. Cast him as Kyle Reese, have him do the exposition and it won't matter that your writing is pretty shit because he'll pull it off.

As it was... Yeah, the writing was pretty weak and at some points it was really cringeworthy. Trying to explain the damn timetravel stuff is only okay if you can make sense of it and they sooo couldn't.

Despite the time-lines being changed, the movie really followed the same formula as the others installments of the series, only not as good.

Meh. I wish they'd have gone with the alternate ending for Terminator 2 and ended it there, or at least made it a lot harder to make sequels. Though I think Terminator Salvation was semi-decent.

I didn't even know the first one got a sequel. Why is this happening instead of Piranha 3TripleD?

Here's the Man from U.N.C.L.E. comic-con extended trailer. I've never heard of the TV show it's based on, but I have to say it looks good. Premise is that because of a criminal organization, the CIA and the KGB both have their best men team up. It embraces the original 1960s setting with relish, which I find to be a refreshing alternative to the insistence that old stories be "modernized." It feels like how a Connery Bond movie would if it were made today.

Saw Ant Man. Was awesome. Found the perfect tone for the sort of movie it was. Cool bit part by Falcon. Paul Rudd was good. There were a couple of threads set up to be picked up elsewhere further down the track. I recommend it.

Just got back, seconded, was awesome.

I want to see more 'mini-crossovers' in the future. Maybe even as more than bit-part roles.

    Spider-man references got me giddy

Oh, and I love Evangeline Lilly btw, so gorgeous.

    Highly recommend it.

    Also, Hugplx, what
    Spider-Man references? Haven't noticed any.

Falcon talking about other heroes in the avengers. Paraphrasing:

"We've got a guy that can swing through the air, crawl up walls..."

Technically, I think it was the woman he was speaking with who said that, wasn't it? Not that it matters, I suppose.

That entire segment confused me. I understood what was going on the first time, but at the end I'm not even sure what Ant Man said 'Yes' to.

Presumably he said yes to joining the Avengers.
