    I'll be honest.

The new Jurassic Park? It looks dumb.

It seems to be a fantastic movie, the Galipolli Failed Campaign, the mutual respect between the new Republic and the ANZACs, and the actors are great too.

After all the monster movies that have come about after the original Jurassic Park?
    Meh. It'll be boring.
And if you're watching the Jurassic Park movie as anything other than a monster flick... LOL.

Curious as to your thoughts on the Mummy movies? Are they horror? Are they humor? Both?

The very first one I saw the same way I saw the "The Prince of Persia: Sands of time" game.
    Action/Adventure.
Slightly humorous but nowhere near horror.
The second one reinforced this feeling.
The third one was just bad. It almost went into parody category. ;)

Watched the Tolkien edit. Much better, do recommend. Still 2 hours too long.

This is another 3-hour edit of the three films. It's definitely much more enjoyable than watching all three films, but some of the editing is a little choppy. For example, you don't actually see Bilbo picking up the Ring (though the rest of the Gollum scene is intact) and there's a very sudden jump from Dain showing up to the Orc army arriving which is just super awkward. It also removes my two favourite scenes of the third film, namely Thorin gifting Bilbo the mithril shirt, and Bilbo telling Thorin about his plans to plant the acorn.

Still, worth watching. I can't compare it to the four-hour version posted above (though I'll probably watch that eventually too), but if you felt that was still too long then this might be what you're looking for.

I want this so bad... like a bad Sharknado/Iron sky crossover. Maybe they should add the Dogtopus...

I still don't understand why Bilbo was the only one with a Mithril vest. One would think Thorin and the others could've used one, too.

    Edit:
    All of my what. 10/10

    Saw Kingsman. I adored it.

If you like the idea of a modern take of a hyper-violent, funny, self-aware classic Bond film, you'll love it as much as me.

Curious to see how it'll be received by the masses.

Just saw Kingsman, and it's very good - far better than the trailer made it out to be, IMO.

The self-aware factor did break immersion occasionally - I was fine with all the movie references, but when the...fireworks, shall we say, happened it was just a tad too unbelievable.

I think by that point you needed to stop expecting serious.

It's essentially a parody done brilliantly IMO.

Sure, I get that. And I was laughing along to that. But still, it broke immersion in a way that none of the previous bits had, even with me realising how silly they were.

I think that point for me was the final scene with the pug, lol.
