Cumberbatch and Mikkelsen? I smell a good movie.

 

That's all but confirmed and while I was expecting it to be the Soul Stone too, some bits of information suggest it's the Time Stone.

Up to this point it was kind of magic, kind of superpowers or technology indistinguishable from magic. Doctor Strange is suppose to use more traditional magic with spells and everything.

 

Strange's amulet might be the Time Infinity Gem rather than the soul one. Depends on where they go with the plot.

Will be interesting to see Strange in an Avengers film. I want to see the interaction between Cumbersnatch and Downey Jr.

 

I am not worried about Doctor Strange. I just hope they nail the otherworldly, trippy nature of Ditko's art.

 

Jane Got a Gun looks a little interesting. The setting means I'll be seeing it eventually anyway. I just hope the trailer didn't give away everything...

Saw the trailer for The Nice Guys when I went to see The Hateful Eight. Looks pretty fun.

The Hateful Eight itself...I don't know. There wasn't any one element of it that was bad, especially, but I felt that at nearly three hours it was longer than it needed to be by far, given the minimal content of the film. On the other hand, there was an undeniable tension to it that might have been diminished if it was shorter. Maybe.

 

Kubo and the Two Strings

It's a stop motion animation film from the same studio that did Coraline and ParaNorman, and the trailer is beautiful.

 

Looks like a trailer was released for what might be a Cloverfield sequel.

My reaction: WHAT THE FUUUUuuuuuUUUUUuuuuuuCCKkckck. I'm such a found footage film whore and not one of those bitches who says they get dizzy, so I fucking loved Cloverfield, but even without that found footage aspect we're still getting a possibly apocalyptic-level sequel with John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallager Jr that was filmed in secret and is now coming out in March? The fucuuucuUUuuuuuck I am so there.

 

There's a trailer for High Rise which is based on a book I loved by J. G. Ballard. It's not revealed much but I'd be interested to see how they would take the social decay and insanity of the book and put it into screen media. It's also starring Scar and Loki so there'll at least be some decent acting and directed by Ben Wheatley who directed the trippy and excellent A Field in England so I'm hopeful that it'll be good.

 

Needs more whale monsters.

Thought the trailer looked pretty cool. John Goodman is only ever good, man.

I'm amazed how kickass Donnie Yen still is in his 50's.

 

This reminds me of American Psycho. I think the shot with paint on his face was referencing that movie.

 

New Suicide Squad poster and Justice League concept art released by Warner Brothers. Nothing to really talk about beyond what is seen of Cyborg and Flash. I'm guessing there will be a Suicide trailer and more Justice League talk during the special CW will transmit.
